It’s ok

I’ve been using this in a light shade for a while now, but probably just out of habit. I don’t think it ‘wows’ me. I do use a lot of Revlon products and as I haven’t really experimented with concealers recently, I’ve just kept buying this one. But I don’t feel the coverage is perfect, it’s just ok. I tried a few concealers in my youth and I think I found them too cakey and dry, so I just stopped trying different ones and stuck with this one. It doesn’t dry out the skin or cake, which is good, but I do wonder whether there are better ones out there coverage-wise. Just not sure, so it gets an average score from me.

Concealed well

I haven't had any concealer for quite some time now. I finally managed to buy one that was within my price range. I saw this on Splashstore at a bargain price. I was way over due to buy one.

This concealer comes in a clear tube. Wand is soft doe foot applicator. I chose medium to dark shade. It's perfect colour for my skintone. Consistency is thin liquid.

I tried wearing this concealer for the day and I got six solid hours wear before it started to fade out. I set concealer with Australis Banana powder and it didn't crease on my under eyes area. Brightened my under eye area well. It lasted longer in combination with the powder.

I wasn't really interested in Revlon products before I tried this. I was so wrong. I'm impressed with how well this worked for me. I think it is priced a little high. I would buy this again.

Too light coverage for me

Opening this product I was disappointed at the consistency and coverage. The blurb said 24 hours coverage so I assumed it would last the distance. Unfortunately for me it didn't. Very light coverage, almost just like foundation in a liquid sense. I applied both under and over my foundation to get the coverage I needed but long term using the product like that I would go through a wand a week!

Tips: It's a good price if you will use sparingly!

Not the best, neither was it the worst concealer t

I really liked this product as it was reasonably well pigmented and some what conceakes my dark circles and most blemishes. As this concealer is rather liquid in consistency, its best to apply it over your foundation as to not rub it off while applying your foundation. There was a limited selection of shades of this product at the pharmacy I bought it at (not sure if that's Revlon's fault or the Pharmacy's) but I wasn't happy with the shade that best match my skin tone out. The shade closest to my colour was really dull and grey in colour which I didn't like.

Sheer

First of all this is a sheer- medium coverage concealer, so if you're looking to conceal significant redness, acne, or hyperpigmentation, this is definitely not the one for you. On the other hand I find it good for minor under- eye darkness and subtle highlighting.

The consistency of the formula is quite thin, like a slightly watered down liquid foundation so it blends out very easily and the finish is matte.

The packaging is very basic and sturdy with a doe foot applicator,- not ideal for dabbing a zits in regards to hygeine..

I don't mind this concealer although I use it for a bit brightness rather than to conceal blemishes and the like, honestly it's pretty damn hopeless for that purpose. It's not something I would repurchase but i've gotten enough use out of it to warrent the $10 I spent on it.

When does the concealing happen?

I was on the hunt for my very first concealer. One that would cover blemishes and give my skin tone a better appearance. I visited my local Farmers store and asked for advice, because I had never used it let alone known any good ones. I was after something which would suit my skin tone, full coverage of blemish but one that would compliment my face rather than make it stick out. I was directed to a few products and various brands but came to rest on the Revlon Colorstay Blemish Concealer. When the retailer first put it on my skin she put it on my neck which according to her was the closest match to my face tone.

She found my matching colour and lucky for me it was 25% off Revlon products that day. I got it for $9.75 which to me is a value for money for what it is. It's a small tube almost like a lipgloss with a wand. It makes it easier to apply small amounts. I love that it comes with it's own applicator, it saves me washing an extra brush. I blend with my ring finger to make sure I am not to abrasive whilst rubbing it in.

I found out by watching a youtube tutorial that concealer goes on top of the foundation (I learned something new yay) to get the best results. After applying I found that the Farmers retailer matched me with a colour that was far too light. On my neck it was perfect but on my face it was not right! I did ask for a face match but she said they couldn't do that with their brushes. So what I am left with is a glorified highlighter! I now use it under my brows to give them definition and to highlight my eyeshadow. Wjat a waste of time and money that was!

I will NOT be repurchasing this nor will I allow to be matched to my neck colour. Does it meet up to my expectations though?.......It has medium coverage but is far too light so it defeats the purpose. Does it compliment my face? Only as a highlighter not as a concealer! Does it suit my skin tone? That's a big fat no. At the end of the day I think the fault lies with the matching of colour but even then it didn't have the amount of coverage I wanted and needed so it was a waste of my time. I have other concealers that I love more than this one.

Tips: Make sure you are matched to your face not your neck.

Great at covering blemishes

I purchased this concealer because I wanted something to hide the redness of my acne scars and the pimples I have. And this concealer did solve these problems, it covered my pimples and tiny blemishes nicely. It has quite a thick consistency, thicker than other concealed I have used. Because of this thicker texture it covers blemishes well.

This concealer dries really fast so I would recommend to apply it to one spot at a time and blending it in before applying it to the next one. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply and get the right amount of product you need. However, I prefer to apply a small amount of the concealer to my finger then apply to my blemish/pimple to prevent bacteria being spread onto the wand.

To prolong the coverage I would recommend setting the concealer with powder. Otherwise I find that it goes cake you and a bit lumpy or crusty around your pimples halfway rough out the day. This concealer is a couple shades too light for my skin so I have stopped using it. I would use it as a highlighter but it because it dries fast it's hard to blend. I probably wouldn't use it under my eyes either because the consistency is quite thick and Is likely to cause creasing.

Overall I think this concealer is good at what it is meant to do: conceal blemishes. I would be interested in finding a better shade for my skin.

Tips: blend quickly as it dries fast

Great for light skin

This was the only concealer I owned until really igniting my makeup addiction. I loved the fact that it was actually a great match for my fair skin (not easy to find), and that it was more yellow toned so a better fit for my complexion. I also loved the fact that it was super easy to blend.

The pitfalls about this concealer (upon realising how many better products there were out there) are its coverage- this can really blend out to nothing. I don't have serious under eye circles, so this will help- in the same way that a foundation can help to even out the skin tone around the eyes. Its not ideal for blemishes- it will provide very little coverage here. What I do like this product for is kind of a top up for my base. So for example if I'm using a bb cream I will apply that, apply undereye concealer and a spot concealer, then top up any areas where I have a little redness (such as on my cheeks) that the BB cream didn't quite cover. I have no problems with creasing with this concealer. All in all this was a great beginners concealer for me- I'm just now more aware of what's out there for specialised skin concerns so will now reach for other concealers to hide under-eye darkness or spots.

Horrible

I Bought this concealer with high hopes i love the revlon colorstay range (especially the foundtion), I was so dissapointed with this concealer im not sure if i got a bad batch or something, but it was really thick with very minimal coverage and caked up and creased within an hour. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Tips: Try before you buy.
