I was quite excited to get this in the vault. I thought this was going to be the answer to my disgusting cuticle nightmares! Well.... no... sadly I was disappointed....
The gel is just gel really. There's no granules in it to exfoliate. The gold is in there but I really think it's just to make it look pretty. I found the whole thing a little awkward to use really. The tip bit is a soft plastic that I think flexes too much and you have to squeeze the gel out, the bottle is a little too firm to make this easy. I find too much gel comes out & it's quite hard to get off one nail to another.
The lid is designed to push your cuticles back, is handy.
The gel does this weird powdery thing if you let it just sit. Though it washes off fine. There's no odor.
I haven't found it's made any difference to my cuticles really. they're still messy.
This is such a weird lil doo-hickey. I picked it up out of intrigue, above anything else.
Sally Hansen's 18K Gold Cuticle eraser comes in pen-like packaging, in black, gold and white. you squeeze product onto your nails via an applicator and massage it in, then buff away the detached cuticle with the rough, white tip, which is there for the purpose of cuticle removal, and actually resembles an eraser on a pencil.
The product has a faintly chemical odour, and does leave a wee residue on nails, so I always wash my hands after use. It definitely makes a difference to the state of my cuticles, allowing me to keep them shorter and stop them interfering with my polish finish. It's easy to use, not terribly expensive, and readily available.
I'll definitely re-purchase, once this one (which is lasting forever!) is done with.
