Maybelline Super Stay 14hr lipsticks Review

I really struggle with these 12+hour lipstick claims - maybe they would stand up if you didn't eat or drink anything but that clearly becomes a health hazard eventually! Other than that this is a perfectly reasonable lipstick. Great colour, easy application, slight shimmer which is nice too.

I have the shade Flash of Fuchsia 135. This lipstick smells great and is not to overpowering. I glides on well however is a little on the dry side so I wouldn't recommend for dry lips. It has a lovely shimmer to it and stays on for a fairly long time with a few touch ups after eating and drinking. It feels slightly sticky when on but I dont mind that much. Lovely strong colouring too such a pretty shade for a bold look.

I love the idea of long lasting lippy. I mean, who doesn't right?! I purchased this in the shade 260, Always Plum. The lipstick smells amazing! It reminds me of those Jet Plane lollies you get in the party packs. The colour is opaque and strong. I wore this for 16 hours and it was still perfect. I only had to touch it up after meals which is acceptable.

The formula is good. I did find it a bit dry to apply but it turned out to be fantastic. I plan on buying more of this range as I am so impressed with this one.

I first got this lipstick because I was looking for a longer lasting red lipstick than I currently had. So I picked this up in the shade ravishing rouge. I was initially a little nervous when I saw the packaging, with how the shade was shown through the plastic lipstick case it looked like a gloss. But it is actually a matte bullet lipstick.

The shade is a lovely red and has a faint bit of glitter in it. And the texture at first is smooth to apply although it drying out over a couple of hours and requires lip balm over it to rehydrate the lips.

However over time the lipstick has become drier and no longer spreads evenly over the lips. Now when I apply it bit of the colour crumble off or collect.

As far as the 14 hour claims go, I would be looking more at 4 hours on a good day.

I can't decide if I like the packaging or not. The bottle half is clear with the lipstick shade, but not the actual lipstick showing through. Then the top is a white lid. It's all plastic, but is well made, especially where holding the lid on is concerned.

After hunting for a pretty pale pink lipstick that wasn't too "Barbie" pink, I came across Maybelline Super Stay 14hr in "Perpetual Peony" (#005).

Perpetual Peony is a cool-toned pale pink with lavender undertones and can be quite a difficult colour to pull off, depending on what you're wearing. But it is the perfect colour for understated lips if you're wanting to finish off a bold or smokey-eyed look.

The 3.3g lipstick bullet is packaged in a sturdy clear plastic tube that reflects the colour of the lipstick within. The white opaque lid clips on with a satisfying click to ensure that it doesn't come loose in your handbag.

The lipstick glides on quite moist and then dries to a long-lasting matte finish that doesn't bleed or feather but use a lip liner anyway as it will help extend the longevity of your lipstick. It definitely doesn't live up to its claims; it won't last 14 hours and does come off a little, but you will get a good 4 to 6 hours between touch-ups.

I found the colour to feel rather drying after a few hours and have noticed that if there are any dry bits of skin on my lips that they are accentuated by this pale colour and matte finish. For best results, gently exfoliate your lips (with a washcloth or toothbrush) before applying a little lip balm or lip serum to moisturise. Do the rest of your make-up and then wipe off any excess lip balm or serum before applying Maybelline Super Stay 14hr.
