L'Oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss in Dare the Dragonfruit Review

So I was lucky enough to be chosen by BR to trial this lip crayon.

The packaging for this product is basic but glamorous, with a metallic silver lid and silver font, with the colour of the lip crayon as the tube, makes it just that little something more, with a twist bottom and a nice rounded tip for easy application.

The lip crayon is around the same size as your chunky Crayola drawing crayon so is not flimsy to snap while your applying.

The RRP for the L'Oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss is $19.99, I think this is quite a reasonable price for this product.

Upon applying for the first time I closed my eyes and applied to my bottom lip, to get a real feel for how nourishing and moisturizing the product is, I was quite surprised at how my lip felt!!! I then applied to the top lip ( eyes opened) and was really impressed by the subtle pigment. This lip crayon offered more to me than I had expected, for more colour pop on my lips I just reapplied about 4 times to really get the dare the dragon fruit colour.

The lip crayon applies really smoothly, and easily good for re application on the go!

I have used this product everyday for the past week and a bit, and depending on what colour I'm wearing for the day depended on how much or little I applied.

The consistency on application is good no lumps, clumps or uneven pigment.

You can use as much or as little as you require depending on how much colour you want on your lips for the day.

I had no reaction or sensitivity to this product.

You can purchase this product from Farmers, Online, Department stores and Pharmacies that stock L'Oreal.

My only negative for this product is that It doesn't last long, although my lips feel amazing It would have been nice to have just a little more holding power.

Overall a great product and I would recommend to friends and family.

WOW! I was so excited to get a place on this trial team, I fell in love with the colour of this lip crayon when BR put up the article about it. But I have never worn such a daring colour before, I really didnt think it would suit me. So getting on this trial team was awesome - I could try this brilliant rich colour without feeling disappointed and out of pocket if it didnt suit me. My goodness - was I impressed! The colour is stunning, really really stunning, it looks amazing on me and I think it would actually be a really easy colour for most complexions to wear. I absolutely adore it! It has a beautiful shimmer to it, when you look closely you can see magenta and aqua glitter through it, and it makes me think of mermaids. I honestly could not love this colour any more, I think this will be my signature lip colour from now on!

The lipstick itself has really good staying power, the only time it comes off is with eating and drinking - but that's to be expected, it doesnt promise 24 hour coverage, nor is it sold as a lip stain, so having to re-apply after eating is totally expected. Otherwise, it lasts really well and stays lovely and bright and glittery.

It does have a slight gloss to it, which is accentuated by the glitter, which in turn enriches the deepness of the purple colour. It is really nice to apply, very soft and smooth and goes on easily - no scratchiness or trying to warm the thing up to make it work, it's an effortless and smooth application. The crayon shape makes it easy to apply too, I wondered if it would be difficult to get nice points on the upper lip, but it is actually just as easy as a traditional lipstick shape.

I absolutely cannot recommend this product enough! My only qualm is I cannot get the ingredients list sticker to open, I have been trying for 30 minutes! I also cannot find the ingredients online, so I am unsure if it contains cochineal, which I do not support.

I really liked everything about this product. It was a great colour, went on nicely and even better - it stayed on nicely. Coverage was even and the balmy finish meant that your lips didn't get dried out. Colour coverage was fairly strong for a stain/balm and took the staying power of the colour was pretty good (for all day wear I would reapply after meals but other than that I didn't need to).

Wow - I was so pleasantly surprised by this product. It's a very wearable, flattering shade of pinky-purple, slightly sheer gloss, with an iridescent shimmer. It does verge on being a bit of a frosty look with the shimmer though, which isn't something I'm ecstatic about, because I try to stay away from frosted anything. It was really easy to apply and get a good outline around my lips and the consistency was perfect. My lips felt so silky and moisturised. I love that you just twist the end to 'sharpen' it, not that I've had to do that yet - I've used it every day for the past few days and it still looks as good as new. I have been addicted to Clinique Chubby Sticks and had thought that more expensive = better product, but this is just as good and it's cheaper. In fact, it's easier to get good precision with this crayon. It kept moisturising all day and even after a cup of coffee it was still there although it had faded slightly from the centre. Because it's quite sheer the fading wasn't really noticeable and I could get away without a touch-up - but I touched it up anyway. I like the packaging a lot and it's easy to throw in my handbag for touch ups throughout the day. I will be hunting out some more colours to add to my collection.

I was very excited to use this product as I have heard great things about lip crayons. I love the packaging and the purple colour was pretty, but that is where it stopped for me. I found the shiny colour looked quite off when I wore it. Although it was easily wiped off, product still remained as a lip stain. When applying the formula was quite creamy and felt moisturizing when alot of the product was on my lips. Application was very easy and I found it easy to stick to the boundaries of my lips. I found I had to continue applying quite often. It could be a winner for other people but personally I wasn't a fan and wouldn't buy this.

Wow. This product is definitely a balmy gloss, as soon as I put it on, my lips felt moisturised, soft and super smooth. For me, I didn't like the little glitters in this but the colour it's self is really nice! I'm not too sure if any other colours have the glitters. Its nice because it isnt thick and the formula is good because it's sheer, good for when you want a slight colour on the lips and arnt going for a heavy look. Because this is a glossy balm it didn't stay on for very long but you can just touch up when needed. I really like the packaging, it's sleek and pretty, very good size and I love that you can wind it up and down. Overall, I would definitely try more colours of this product as they are super moisturising and I love how natural looking they look on the lips

I was lucky to be picked for the trial for this beauty and boy, I am not disappointed! Packaging is small and discreet, a staple in a girls handbag, and the lid stays put so you wont have gloss smeared all through your bag which is a bonus! The crayon shape means it is super easy to hold whilst applying. The gloss itself has a very buttery texture and glides on, I found that I only needed to apply one coat to get a beautiful finish. The colour itself looked brighter in the tube but looked like a gorgeous pinky purple on my lips so dont be intimidated when you first see the colour! I was pleasantly surprised to see the glitter but really love it, I would easily see myself wearing this to work as it isnt too in your face. I popped it on to work and found that even after my coffee there were still traces of the gloss left, some glitter had rubbed off but the stain was still on my lips. It is very moisturizing and I am so excited to get my hands on the other colours in the range now!

This gloss goes on really nicely onto your lips, it feels moisturising and the colour is fabulous. it has glitter in it which is the only thing i dont like about it, the glitter specks are too big and stay on your lips after the colour has worn off. I work in a supermarket and wore this over an 8 hour shift so it dealt with alot of air conditioning and talking. i reapplied it at every break and after putting it on the few times the colour stained my lips which was good - but after a while it felt like it dried out my lips which i wasnt that happy about. the colour was lovely but would have been better without the glitter flakes. i will keep using this product

I was lucky enough to receive this item in a trial and I love it! I found the lipstick to last for hours - even after eating lunch and drinking coffee, I was initially rather nervous about whether the colour would suit me, as it was from the 'purple' trial series but the colour is lovely and not only suits me but my mum and sister too. The colour is so pretty and after the gloss wears off it leaves a nice coloured stain. The texture is very creamy and makes my lips feel very hydrated.

I have previously used Revlon crayons but have been converted to using L'Oreal, I even went in to Farmers this afternoon and purchased two other colours!

Would definitely recommend to everyone!

I was really excited to receive this from BR for review! I love Crayon products! I raced to the bathroom & applied as soon as I got this & have been wearing it all day. First of all, it's silky smooth, almost buttery texture is amazing. It has glitter in it, not a heap but enough to add sparkle to my lips & you cannot feel the bits which is a huge 'high five'. The colour Dare the Dragonfruit is beautiful. It's subtle pinkish - purple is just lovely. Feminine & sweet that I think would suit all age groups & would go with a lot of make up looks. It lasts quite well I find, for a gloss & as it's subtle and easy to use, there's no real need for a mirror to apply it. I have a party tomorrow night that I'm going to try this over a bright Pink Lipstick to see how that works... Will update this review!
