Infallible Star

In a compact plastic tub L’Oreal claims some enticing qualities for me including: broad spectrum SPF, hydrating, up to 24 hr, radiant finish & having a air light texture. I usually would be drawn but with being Pro-Glow too I’d give it a miss....I have been proven wrong. I would be concerned about the thin nature settling into my fine lines but it didn’t any more than any other foundation.

I am not a lover of “glow”, I do prefer matt. I can describe the glow as more natural which has been a refreshing look during these hot days so am 100% proven wrong. I see they have a matt version in the line too so will try that one during the cooler months.

It complimented the L’Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Serum which I use as a primer.

During weekend just one layer with just mascara and lip gloss, looked so casual but photo happy. Weekday two layers & a little more time with blush etc... Was surprised too how it gave me that great in-between look, again lasted fine for the day.

I was also delighted at how easy it was to apply down jaw line with no streaking etc...

I wouldn’t describe it as air light but more on the thin side & was surprised that I could apply with my finger tips. It didn’t come out of the tube too quickly (which I thought it might be quite thin). Absorbed very quickly into skin and a little went a long way. I did think the tube seemed small but looking at some of my other foundations 30ml is standard. This packaging is simple and slim, no pump so I’ll be able to utilise every last drop. A great take away size....sometimes it’s just the simple things that get my tick (so annoying with larger glass bottles when going away).

Wouldn’t work for an evening look but happy to have it in my cupboard. Especially quick and easy to pop on if you are having one of those “rush out quickly” mornings.

Thanks BeautyReview for sending review my way, I am especially enjoying L’Oreal at the moment and find the table breakdown on back of their packaging quite handy. It indicates Finish, Wear time, Coverage and Texture.

Tips: Shake well before use & best applied with fingers or/& a blending sponge (didn't work that good with my brush).

Infallible

Packaging: I do like the fact that this is a squeeze tube rather than a pump bottle as I feel like I’ll be able to get the product out more easily when it is running low.

The lid twists off easily, even when your hands are nice and slippery from the primer that you’ve just ’smooshed’ all over your face because you were way too lazy to wash your hands between steps…

Product: This is a very runny foundation, to the point that when I am putting the lid back on the tube I can feel it running slightly across the back of my hand, though thankfully it hasn’t managed to escape onto the floor yet. (I squeeze it onto my hand by the base of my thumb and then dab it over my face, or use the beauty blender directly from the back of my hand.

SPF: I like the fact that it has SPF 15 in it, and it didn’t feel heavy on my skin throughout the day. I successfully avoided getting sun burnt at Electric Avenue.

It goes a surprisingly long way, and doesn’t leave me with a greasy feeling, and I don’t think it highlights the dry patches on my nose too much either. It does seem to have a nice finish, while still letting me keep a more natural look and didn’t transfer onto my hands when I touch my face (which is seriously all the time).

Coverage: this is described as medium coverage and I would agree with that. It did a really good job of covering the acne I’ve got on my chin at the moment as well as a blemish on my cheek in a really obvious place just below my cheekbone..

Lasting: Applied with a damp beauty blender over a base of Australis Primer, and then a mattifying powder pressed over top it lasted me from 2pm to midnight at the electric avenue music festival in Christchurch. I didn’t feel like it was going to slide off my face at my dance classes, and it didn’t transfer onto any clothing( yay!). It also still looked ok after I'd removed my motorbike helmet on two rides yesterday.

Touch ups: So I may have had a disastrous (not exaggerating) eyeliner experience where I had to remove the attempted wing from my left eye 4 times (I kid you not, it was horrific). I was able to very easily fix this area with foundation again without it looking super obvious and it easily covered the associated redness from trying to remove the darn eyeliner in the first place.

Application: I had one day that it felt weird to apply and wasn’t behaving the way I wanted to, I realised I’d forgotten to dampen my beauty blender and that totally fixed the problem… so that was user error.

100% loving this and haven’t touched another foundation since I received this trial.

Tips: 1) Just go without eyeliner on your left eye, its not worth it (if you're me) 2) don't forget to use a damp beauty blender, it makes it apply far nicer. 3) feel free to make up words like 'smooshed' to get your point across. 4) if you're going to be active and sweating try setting it with a matte powder to reduce the shine you would end up with

Amazing foundation

Thanks again Beauty review for the chance to review this amazing foundation. I absolutely love it!!! It offers really good coverage for me without caking into my fine lines. It offers a nice glow but not a massive shine like when someone needs a powder finish. A little bit goes a long way! The texture is nice and not clunky at all. I selected the perfect shade for me, no makeup lines around the neck, it blends in perfect with my natural skin tone. I have been using it everyday since I received it from beauty review and I think I have actually found a foundation I really like and want to stick to. I’m 100% percent happy with this foundation and if you’re thinking of trying it then do.

Another winner from L'Oréal

I've been using the LOreal Infallible 24HR MATTE & TOTAL COVER for over a year so was stoked to be chosen for this trial! I was very nervous picking a colour and found the website recommended for the trial team very helpful - when it arrived it was a perfect match for my skin which is a miracle in itself! (204 natural buff) Which leans more towards a yellow skin tone instead of pink - LOreal is one of the very few that cater to my skin tone. I have Melasma (dark irregular pigment patches) all over my face from sun damage so foundation is something I struggle with as it seems to highlight these patches instead of blur or cover. I also have dry flaky patches & an oily T zone at times.

Thats my backround - now for the product: I was suprised by the runny consistency compared to my other 2 foundations. It felt very lightweight to use/wear and would recommend for people wanting a light/medium coverage or even first time foundation users. You can build it up over areas you need more coverage. Great foundation for during the day but personally I would prefer more coverage/heavier foundation for a night out. Ive used it over a light day cream with SPF15 and it did well mostly staying in place till dinnertime. Then I tried it with a heavier hydrating moisturizer and found it didnt hold quite as well and my oily T-zone was an issue but it didnt grab onto my dry patches like other foundations which was a nice suprise! And another combination I tried was my light day moisturizer, primer and setting powder and it did the best with this combination lasting well into the evening with good coverage. So in terms of 24hr wear I would say more like 12hr if you do all the prep work. And where my pigment patches are concerned I was very pleased that it didnt seem to highlight them but blur them slightly instead so thats a clear winner in my books! The finish of it is 'dewy' which is different for me but I liked it. Overall I love it for daily use and it will now be a constant in my makeup drawer! Thank you Beautyreview & LOreal - great trial

Tips: Be careful when you decanter as it runs out quickly and use a light non-greasy moisturizer underneath.

Great for Dry skin

I was very excited to be chosen for this trial. I have spent alot of money in my time trying to find a foundation to suit my skin. Definitely great for dry skin, I have had trouble with other foundations leaving dry patches and this one didn't. Nice medium coverage. I was worried it was going to be too light as it's quite a runny liquid but coverage was good. Lasted my 12hr work day which is great!! After using for a week I am more than happy and can see me buying it when I run out.

Tips: I tried with and without a primer, lasted longer with a primer and I felt it was better wuth a powder on top

L'Oreal Pro Glow Foundation - Review

Ever since this product released in the US I have heard loads about it - mostly good, so when I saw this trial opportunity I immediately put my hand up for it! This product claims to be a lightweight, medium coverage foundation with a glowy finish and up to 24 hour wear. I personally have combination skin (oily with stubborn dry patches) but I prefer a glowy finish so I was interested to see how this foundation would hold up, especially in this summer's heat. This foundation retails for $39.99 and contains 30ml of product, which is around average. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube type container - as the foundation has a thin texture sometimes this can be hard to control and I end up with too much product.

I chose the shade '202' for this foundation and even though it had the right undertone for me it was just a tiny bit too light. The consistency was very runny - I had to be careful not to spill it when I opened the cap. I applied it using a beauty blender sponge, which left me with light-medium coverage - this was perfect for me. The finish was very glowy and natural, but I had to set it with a tiny bit of powder as otherwise it would have broken down in minutes with my oily skin. Even so, it didn't emphasise my dry patches which is a big plus! I found with primer it lasted around 12 hours, with no breaking down (it just looked a bit oily, but I do have oily combination skin). Without it lasted for a little while less, but still didn't break down. I really liked the finish of this foundation though, and also the fact that it contains SPF is great!

Overall, I really enjoyed this foundation - it has good light-medium coverage, wears well and has a natural glowy finish. I imagine it would be great for dry skin as it is very hydrating. However it is on the mre expensive end of 'drugstore' products, costing $39.99, but I think it is a great product and would definitely buy it if it was on sale or I had a coupon.

Tips: Be careful when you open the tube - it's very easy to spill!

Surprised!

The packaging of the L'oreal Paris Infallible pro-glow foundation is rather cheap looking. In my opinion, its not a cheap foundation, but it definitely looks it from the packaging. I really love that its SPF as well. The first thing i noticed when applying this product was that it was very chemically smelling. I almost didnt want to put it on my face from the smell. The consistency was just right for a foundation, not too liquid-y but not too thick. It applied very well and i only need a small amount to cover my face. From the small amount i got the right cover hat i like which is around a medium, but of course i could have built it up more. The shade blended well into my skin and it wasn't obvious that i was wearing foundation which is awesome. It did have a little but of a sticky feeling, it wasn't too bad. In regards to lasting, i wouldn't say it lasted 24 hours... but i dont need it to. It lasted me the day at work which is all i need. It is a good foundation but i have used others that are more affordable and give me the same outcome.

Tips: Only need a small amount!

L’Oréal Pro Glow

I quite like this foundation, although it didn’t really last the 24 hours that it promises.

The consistency is quite thin, and it doesn’t have much of a scent. I found the easiest way to apply this is with a beauty blender, as it went quite patchy with a foundation brush.

It is definitely medium coverage, and it was somewhat buildable for me. I tried this with and without a primer, and it definitely lasted longer with the primer. I would also recommend a setting powder, although I don’t think it’s completely necessary.

I found it lasted about 12 hours with the primer, and only about 8 or so without. It started to get quite patchy and rubbed off.

However this could just be a weird reaction with my skin, which I would consider normal. It would probably last quite well on people with really dry skin. I have also noticed some breakouts on my forehead and nose after wearing this for a couple of days, but they have gone away now.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to people with really dry skin, as I’m sure it would definitely be closer to holding up the 24 hour promise. I think people with normal to dry skin should try it too, because it does look really nice, especially for the first few hours after it was applied.

Tips: Definitely use a good primer underneath, and maybe a setting powder or spray depending on your skin type. Beauty blenders are probably the best way to apply it.

Perfect foundation for someone else.

This is a great foundation…for somebody else. Unfortunately, this foundation has a very limited shade range. It fails to cater for the very fair, as well as those with deep skin tones. I trialled 202 Creamy Natural which is the ‘lightest’ shade for warm undertones. Honestly, it looked orange on me. Admittedly, I am extremely pale. My perfect fit is Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia. I feel that I should point out that I knew that this shade would be terrible for me but, I wanted to test the formula.

The formula was amazing! It has a radiant finish that gives a subtle glow to the skin. The foundation does not accentuate any pores and sits nicely on the skin. This formula, when used with a makeup sponge, is easy to blend and build. It has a nice medium coverage that does not feel heavy.

Aside from the shade range my only negative is that the packaging can get a little messy as the foundation is very runny. The foundation has a tendency to spill out of the nozzle when it is upright. So, naturally, I store this upside down.

Ultimately, if L’oreal extended their shade range I would repurchase this beauty in a fairer shade.

Infallible pro-glow

Gosh I think I’m in love with this product! I’ve worn foundation for the past 20 years and I honestly feel this foundation is my perfect match for my dry skin. At the end of the day I don’t have flakey foundation on the bridge of my nose as some past foundation has done. I am trialing 207 sand beige and the colour was a pretty good match. Directions say to shake well and when you do you can hear how light and liquid the foundation is. It also says to dot in rolling motion for flawless coverage and yes it does give great coverage for a medium, what I like is it is buildable too, I could add more to places where I have broken capillaries and it did well to cover them (I often use concealer) but found with an extra build with the foundation I didn’t really need to add concealer. With my job I don’t need to wear makeup as such but like to use foundation to cover my not so great skin and keep a natural look, infallible pro-glow I felt did that without looking heavy and nor did it feel heavy on the skin. Actually I liked the way it sat on the skin - it is certainly a radiant finish but I found a light dust of powder and it was fine. Unfortunately I trialled this product in the hottest humid conditions so I have had days off perspiring heavily so don’t feel I can honestly say it lasts 24 hours and I don’t wear makeup for that long anyway I’m one to remove my makeup once I get home at the end of the day. However I did go from work to out and just added a little more and I was very impressed how fresh it looked again so well done L’Oreal I’m totally sold on the product will definitely be using this for some time to come.

Tips: Follow the instructions- shake well before use and the rolling motion was a great tip.
