Maybelline Curvitude Angled Liquid Eyeliner Pen Review

I'm not an expert with liquid liner - it's always taken me a few goes to achieve a sleek, straight line. And then I was lucky enough to trial this pen and I realised that the reason I hadn't been able to do that sleek, straight line on the first go, was because ALL OTHER LIQUID LINERS SUCK.

Seriously, the Curvitude is pretty damn cool. It's angled, which makes it easier to get close to the lash line. The brush is super-fine at the end, so you can get between lashes. And it's a pen, so there's no brush dip in bottle, crap, it's dried already, re-dip, now it's gone clumpy, re-dip, too much on the brush, re-dip, FML. And of course, if you can forge your Mum's signature with a regular pen, you can easily do a perfect wing with this one.

What else? It's a true black, very densely pigmented. It's hardwearing - no slippage or smearing - once that sucker's on, IT'S ON. It's perfect for funerals and break-ups (ie waterproof), and it comes off pretty easily with a cleansing wipe. The price is pretty good too.

When I got this in the mail I looked at it and sighed thinking it looked like a gimmick, why on earth would a bent pen be any use? Just weird..

Well, I cracked it out of the pack and raised it to my eyelid. The result was an 'uh huh' moment. I could see where I was applying the line, I could see my eye lid, I could SEE past my chubby clumsy hand and no longer had to guess and check and reapply. This product is revolutionary, such a simple change in design with such dramatic results. Not only could I see whilst applying it but I could get much tidier and closer lines than I was ever able to 'guess' before.

Really easy to use, lightweight and the pen nib is more of a soft nib like a brush, the ink is a good consistency and opaque.. The shape of the pen is what stands this product apart from the rest. Other than the shape the other attributes are no different than normal.

The shape is a game changer!

this eyeliner is such a nice colour, it is very black and super easy to use! I love the shape of the eyeliner as it makes it super easy to turn to the right angle and still see what you are doing! when I first watched i ton my hand I was so impressed the tip is very fine which makes it very easy to create a thin line. The only thing is that if you turn it on its side the line becomes more thick which could create an uneven line, I recommend making sure you keep the eyeliner up right so the tip can make a straight line. This eyeliner also wears very nicely, it didn’t smudge or bleed or run which is always a good thing. I am surprised as I don’t usually go for liquid eyeliners but I will be using this eyeliner more now!

This should be renamed eyeliner for dummies! I am seriously eyeliner challenged and I can apply this easily. No more smokey eye eyeliner for me or spending 20 min in front of the mirror to get an even eyeliner look!

The angled design of the bottle means that eyeliner can be applied easily and quickly, you can actually see what you are doing without your hand getting in the way! It is a liquid so the product again is applied very easily and comes out as a solid black shade. It is simple to thicken the line by applying a little more product. Seriously, this is one easy and quick product to apply and to get a great look!

I wore this eyeliner out today in the rain, sun and very humid weather and it still looks just as I applied it. It is very long wearing and hard to smudge, perfect from day to night.

The packaging is what you would expect from Maybelline. The packet has all of the directions needed to apply it, not that they are really needed. It is targeted to a younger (than myself) consumer so I guess that is why I wouldn't normally pick it up or be overly attracted to it but this is my go-to eyeliner now.

I find eyeliner extremely hard to apply which is why I never really use it in the first place. What I really do love about this is the tip and how it isn’t a brush as it makes it much easier to apply for a beginner like me. It's more of a nib, flexible yet firm so anyone who isn't used to applying eyeliner can still apply it with precision.I also love the angle of it as it just adds more precision as well as convenience. The finish isn't as dark as I would like though, I'd usually prefer something thats a true black and this isn't that as it isn't as opaque as I'd like. I find that it dries down pretty quickly but at first the application is wet which definitely makes it very easily to create a smooth wing. The finish is a semi matte, but not completely matte so if thats something you prefer this definitely isn't it. Overall I really enjoyed using this product but definitely not a go to but something I'd use again

I’ve been on the hunt for a new fave liner and I’ve found it! Master precise has been my holy grail for so long!!!

This is such an intense black liner that hugs my lashes perfectly, the angled design makes it easy to use and get around my long lashes which can be a pain at times.

The formula is really nice and goes on just like a sharpie pen, while I have full control of my lines. It wears really well and doesn’t wipe or smudge after a few hours in the heat.

The head design on this, although seems a bit odd it completely works I can lie the pen slightly sideways and it creates a perfect wing for my liner. The super sharp point is perfect for creating a crazy crisp wing tail. Lastly it has a twist top (FINALLY!!!!!!!!) so the pen won’t dry out for not clicking the lid on properly, or the lid won’t pop off and then dry the pen out which happens to me with others so often!!

I've never tried a 'bent' eyeliner before, so this was quite fun to play with! It took a couple tries to get the hang of it, but I think it does let me have a bit more control of the application process.

The lid is screw on (I know, incredible right) so it's very secure. The felt tip has a very strange 'bumpy' shape. I've yet to figure out the point of this as it doesn't seem to be any different to a normal felt tip. It's relatively soft, and feels more like a brush which gives more control of thickness. Depending on how hard you press, the line can go from very thin to a couple mm wide. I think the point of the bent neck is so you can see better when applying it, but normally I don't have much trouble anyway (I use my left hand for my left eye, and right hand for right eye). It does make it easier to do the lash line at the inner corner, so brownie points for that. The colour is deep black, and doesn't feather out throughout the day. Removal was easy with waterproof makeup remover, although the eyeliner in the tiny spaces between my lashes sometimes lingers onto the next morning.

This is a great eyeliner, and is definitely in my trusy liquid liners list. But it hasn't wowed me enough to make it to holy grail status. This would be good for anyone who wants more control and precision of their eyeliner application.

I'm actually pretty blown away at how easy this was to use. I wear winged eyeliner quite a lot and this is by far the easiest product I've ever used that can get so close to my lash line! Because it is a pen style I didn't hold very high hopes for this to be pigmented, as ones I have used in the past have been pretty patchy, but this is such a true, dark pigmented black and I was SO impressed. I've worn/used this a handful of times now and have had no issues with any smudging or bleeding so that's a major plus as well.

The curve of the pen is such an awesome idea and will make this super easy for people who have always struggled to do their liner, it allows you to get to the inner corner and along the lash line so precisely. It's also nice and easy to hold so it's easy to get a good grip on it. The tip of the actual liner itself is really nice and fine too so it's easy to get a good thin line, but you can turn it on it's side a little more to create a thicker line.

The one minor thing I wasn't too big of a fan of was the lid, I kept expecting to pull it off, but it twists off, it just kept catching me out - but it's not even a big deal, just something I guess I personally am not used to.

Overall I think this is a great product, cute and sleek packaging, pigmented liner, a nice fine tip and super easy to use!

This is the most precise liquid eye liner pen I have used! I love the shape of the pen. It helps get such and accurate line. It’s easy to hold, and easy to use. I got such a perfect line first go. Usually it takes me a bit of fixing to get two perfectly lined eyes. Totally recommend. Totally worth it!

I am in love with the angled tip! The curve and fine tip gave me the precision that my wobbly hands needed, and I got my eyes lined thinly first time perfect without having to use cotton buds to fix up my mistakes! I found I didn’t need to pull my eyes sideways to get the line I needed and it filled in my lash line perfectly. The formula glides on easily and dries quickly, I wore it through the day and didn’t have any fading or smudging.
