Maybelline Brow Drama Review

I don’t have skinny brows and I also don’t have great big bushes, just normal brows, and I can’t make this product work for me. Drama? Well, kind of?

The bulb at the end is bizarre, you can’t really ‘brush’ or shape your hairs with it. Or at least I can’t. And to be honest I don’t even know if the liquid component really holds fast either.

I used the shade for brunettes. I fill in my brows first and re-shape with a pencil and then use a brow gel to fix them and add a bit more texture. This is how I like my brow routine and I just can’t make this item work with that routine.

I would prefer a shorter wand and a more mascara brush tip.

I bought this in transparent as I just wanted something light to tame my brows a bit. It doesn’t create too much ‘drama’ at all actually, despite its name. But that is a positive for me - I didn’t actually buy it wanting any drama and knew I’d be safe getting it in transparent for that reason. I personally don’t like the feel of too much of anything on my brows.

The ball-like tip of the applicator was a bit of a surprise when I first used this product. I was expecting it to look a bit more streamlined - like the end of your average mascara wand. Having said that, I personally don’t have an issue with the applicator - it works just fine for me. It feels like I’m applying mascara - but to my brows! Very easy to use - not messy or cumbersome.

In transparent, it looks and feels like I haven’t applied anything to my brows, which I love. And it does seem to keep brows in place, so it’s perfect for achieving what I want it to do.

At around $15, it’s a bargain really and is now a welcome addition to my makeup kit.

I have medium brown hair and find that this brow gel is actually a smidge light for me. The applicator is fantastic and allows for really precise application. I would love if the gel was a smidge thicker to allow for a brow thickening effect but it does give a really natural result and keeps those brows where they should be

I absolutely love this brow gel. I remember when i first opened the lid, i was very surprised by the brush as it has a very strange looking ball type design at the end and looked very hard to use. I got used to using it and find it super easy to use now. Im not that huge into drawing/filling in my brows everyday as i have quite full dark eyebrows naturally so this product is perfect for me. I just brush through the product and it keeps all my brow hairs in place as well as giving it a tiny bit of colour. I use the darkest shade and find it works well. The gel stays in place all day so my crazy long brow hairs look some what decent! i have used this product pretty much every day for 2-3 months and it doesn't look like its going to run out any time soon. Overall i find it works great , would happily buy it again and recommend to friends.

I'm really into brows. I love trying out new pencils and gels and this particular gel was quite intriguing to me. The coloured gel isn't anything different but the brush on this sure is. I don't think I've seen anything like it before. It is about 2cms long and starts off as a thin mascara-type wand but then it balloons out into a big ball. I'm really not sure that this was the best design. Generally, the smaller the brush the better so you can be more precise.

I have the dark brown version of this and I really like the colour shade. It's quite dark but not black dark and it's not warm at all. Even though I have naturally warm hair, my eyebrows are cool toned and I hate when brown eyebrow products are too warm toned. This sets my brows in place but it doesn't leave them feeling like there is hair gel in them.

I have quite sparse brow hairs so I always fill in with a pencil first. If you have good brows already, you could get away with only using this but I've tried with other gels before and it takes me about 3 times as long and never looks as good as when I pencil first. My brows are also a medium thin shape. So this brush for me is a bit too big. I imagine for most brow shapes it would be too big though. I'd imagine only brows that are 1cm thick or thicker would find it easy to use. I just use the very end which works out ok though. I don't usually get it everywhere but I do wipe a lot of excess product off first.

I will use the rest of this up but I couldn't see myself buying this again. I much preferred the loreal version, so I'd recommend that one over this.

great brow gel, i love the transparent one it hold everything in place really well for a long time and keeps everything neat and tidy. Love this product and would purchase again.

I have the Maybelline Brow Drama in the shade 'Transparent'. When I do my brows I generally use a brow powder or a pomade to fill them in. However I also wanted a product that would hold my brow hairs in place during the day, to stop them looking messy. This product does a good job of this.

The packaging is a black tube. It is a similar shape and size to the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara packaging. The shape of the applicator wand is a bit different. It starts off like a skinny spoolie brush, but then it ends as a spiky sphere. This seemed a bit gimmicky to me at first. I feel like this shape could be tricky for makeup beginners to use, especially if they have one of the coloured shades. I have seen online that some people cut off the sphere part of the brush and just use the spoolie brush. So maybe try that if you find the brush difficult to control.

After using this product for a while, I actually enjoyed the shape of the brush. It does a good job of coating all the hairs in my brows in one sweep. Since I have the shade 'Transparent' (which is completely clear), I don't have to worry about getting any of the product on my skin.

Sometimes if you use too much product, you can see the gel on your brows. But if you keep sweeping the brush through, it will begin to look more natural. This product really sets all my hairs in place, and stops them from straying during the day. It leaves my brows feeling natural and soft, not crunchy like other products can be.

Overall, I really liked this product. It makes my brows look sleek and structured, which is why I wanted to purchase it in the first place. It's also quite cheap, so I would buy it again.

I picked this up unsure about it thinking I had to try the brush, it looks like a medieval weapon. I decided to get this in transparent for some reason that fails me now.

The gel holds my brows in place nicely. I can use my Chi Chi brow pencil underneath it no problems. The gel feels natural and non sticky. This doesn't have any fibres in it so if you are looking at that in a brow product step away, you will not get it from here. I have been known to use this with no other makeup when home alone so my brows look pretty even if the rest of me is not done up.

I will be looking at a rebuy on this once finished
