AUSTRALIS Ready Set Finishing Powder, completely evens out complexion for a glowing radiant look.

It improves the wear and sets your foundation without leaving your skin dull or over powdered. It softens the appearance of imperfections and blurs fine lines, without changing your natural contours. The oil- absorbing formulation keeps pores and uneven surface texture concealed while maintaining skin's natural moisture.

The silky smooth texture feels divine on your skin making it look and feel soft and fresh. Leaves make-up feeling weightless. One universal shade of true translucent is perfect for any skin tone and is talc free.

My first translucent powder

I spotted this in Kmart one day (a couple of years ago now) and picked it up thinking that I needed it, but I didn't really know why at that stage—I wasn't new to makeup but I didn't really get the whole "baking" trend when it started...

So I just jumped in and gave this one a go, I trialled it with a stippling brush to finish my makeup and really liked the finish, it really was transparent and didn't leave me looking like I'd just stuck my head in a bag of flour (yay!), I then went one step further and tried baking with it, and OMG WOW! What a silky smooth finish to my undereye, I should've done this sooner!

I finally ran out of this middle of 2018 and I think I will repurchase this, however, I'm trying talc-free alternatives first.

Tips: A little goes a long way! It lasted me 2 years before I finally finished it (and that was using it almost every day)

Ghostly

I brought this product on a farmer deal, thinking bid give baking a try, this product is super fine and gets literally everywhere if your not careful, so either pure precision I apply it leaving it for a few minutes and go to dust off to find I look like a ghost!! I'm all for lighter and brighter under eye but this was next level! I attempted it a few times with no success, so its been put in the back of a shelf for a night where I have dress up and might cone in handy

Tips: I personally tip container upside down quickly and get product off the lid due to the fine powder and to avoid heavy build up

Flashbacks

I wouldn’t recommend, tried baking, was only on there for about 1 minute and just left me white under my eyes, didn’t come off neatly. Has a funny smell to me, not always important but just thought I would put that out there. Worst thing was... flashbacks! It’s a good setting powder, lightly all over the face but too much will leave you with flashbacks and too white

Less is best

I'm a baker, a makeup baker! I love setting my under eye and define my contour.

I was given this product and I though why not switch things up from my usual setting powder and try something new.

One thing I learned pretty quickly was you do not want to pile this powder on like an ordinary setting powder because it will make you look like a pale ghost. Less powder is best with this product to get the best outcome.

The other thing you need to watch for is time you let it sit before brushing the excess powder off. Usually I will conceal, bake then do my eyebrows. When I've finished my brows I usually brush the excess powder off. However I noticed pretty quickly how hard it was to get the powder off! The longer you leave it the harder it becomes to take off. Leave it on for a shorter time it will brush off and give you a beautiful finish. I find I crease less with this product than my other finishing powder.

For $15 its a product worth trying!

Tips: Don't leave it baking for too long.

I was not sick

Personally speaking I did not like this at all, yes it was light and silky feeling but when having a play with my make up as girls/ women do I walked out of my room only to have someone immediately ask me if I was sick because I was so pale. When I googled the term "translucent" it gave me an example of frosted window glass. So I would agree with that phrase as it seems that's exactly how my face looked after using . To be fair I haven't reached for this product again since so there may be room for improvement for application but I did purchase to help set my make up and for less effort I just use setting spray now

Good!

I don't always reach for mine, but I got it free on a special from farmers so all in all I wasn't complaining lol. But it's good and it did help with my oily areas.

Tips: Don't over do it. Just dab lightly with a brush. I over did it and it made me look ghostly lol

Good value

Another accidental purchase of mine while Rimmel Stay matte was out of stock. This powder feels beautiful! It sets my foundation well but I try to keep it away from my under eyes and use something else there as it kind of sits in the fine lines.

Does the job

This powder really was a good little work-horse. It was super finely milled, silky to the touch and as far as I experienced it was completely transparent, but I am pretty fair so I can't speak on behalf of deeper skin tones.

I have combo skin these days and found it applied nicely over all areas of my face. It claims to be oil-absorbing and pore concealing - this is where it lost a few stars as I didn't find either of these claims to be true, but I didn't buy this powder for either of those purposes so it didn't worry me too much.

The 'gram-age' isn't on the packaging so I don't know exactly how much product you get, but I know it's not much. It probably took no more than a month of daily use to use this up.

This powder wasn't anything miraculous but it set my makeup well, looked good and I enjoyed using it.

Tips: The sifter lifts right out of this container so I've re-purposed it by filling it with my RCMA powder (and putting the sifter back in!) because the RCMA packaging is awful. Super handy!

airbrush in a jar

I only have minor niggles about this wee jar of magic.

I always finish my foundation with powder, and when my mattifying powder and translucent powder ran out within a week of each other I went looking for something new to try - and found this!

I'm a big fan of Australis as a cheap and cheerful brand, and so was happy to shell out the $20 odd bucks for this.

The container is tiny - looks more like a tester size than the real one. However, because I'm travelling so much, this is actually ideal as it tucks neatly into my makeup bag.

The powder is a 'true translucent', which appears to mean that it's totally colourless - it looks white, but actually has no colour to it at all once it's on. It's super fine and puffs up in a massive cloud around my face when I apply it, but settles beautifully onto my face. It's not visible, but just seems to make my foundation look totally flawless, and feel even more amazing. It also seems to be helping it stay looking fresh all day, which is awesome.

The powder has a slightly chalky scent that you don't notice once it settles.

My wee quibbles with it are as follows:

- the cloud of dust that puffs up makes me cough a bit - the cost per use isn't that low seeing as its quite little to start with and seems to get used up quite fast - the packaging is cheap - the cap can be hard to screw back on sometimes, and because the actual area where you pick the powder up with your brush is shallow, I spill it a bit sometimes

In short, I like it, but it's not a must have yet - will explore other options!

Tips: when you test this on your hand in store, do it over a dot of foundation. It's less impressive on bare skin

Perfect powder

I love this translucent powder, I am extremely pale and have spent to many years trying powders that make me look orange! This powder makes my face so smooth, it doesnt irritate my sensitive skin as some others have done. It doesn't crease or look cakey. And its pretty cheap!

All round, great product.
