The Australis Don't Sweat It Foundation answered all my prayers for a foundation that was super pale, high coverage, and lasted well throughout the day. I was after something to replace my Estee Lauder Double Wear, and this affordable alternative was (almost) as good.
The packaging is quite interesting, it's sort of like a squeezy tube with a pump on the end, if that makes sense. It can be a bit temperamental, but once you've kinda gotten the hang of it it's fine to disperse product.
The foundation itself is very thick and dries quite quickly, almost verging on a mousse instead of a liquid. But this does result in good coverage — I personally have no need for concealer when using this foundation. One layer gives you about 80-90% coverage, and adding a second layer covers absolutely all redness and blemishes. The shade Nude was perfect for my pale skin, and on the whole this foundation was able to stay put throughout the day with no discolouration, fading, etc, even in the heat of summer.
However, after using it for several weeks I definitely noticed that the foundation's finish is very, very dependent on the state your skin is in in the first place. If my skin is soft with no breakouts then this foundation sits well and looks great (particularly with the Too Faced Hangover Primer). However, my skin is currently going through a dry/sensitive patch, and this foundation has been looking very unnatural and patchy, and emphasises my pores. It's a struggle to get it looking good. So for this reason I would recommend for gals with normal skin, but probably not for those with sensitive or dry complexions.
This foundation really does what it claims to do, not wear off when your face gets sweaty. It has a thick consistency and coverage which allows it to stay put. I personally wouldn't wear it daily because of this but it is great for occasions like attending a wedding in the middle of Summer. Even though it is thick it is still easy to blend using a make up brush. It is a great affordable option that works how it should.
Tips: Start light and build up since it has a thick consistency and coverage. No one wants to look caked in foundation!
