Do you know HOW your Rosehip Oil is extracted?

Do you love Rosehip Oil?  No?  Then you must not have tried it!  It's just so, so good!  And we're not the only ones who love it - we're in amazing celebrity company -  Miranda Kerr, Gwenyth Paltrow and Princess Catherine; all love themeselves a it of rosehip!

Rosehips are actually the dark red fruits of roses they've havebeen used since ancient times. Mayans, Egyptians and Native-Americans discovered that besides the pleasant-smelling fragrance of the roses, these plants came with extra benefits.

What benefits?  Well..it's FULL of antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids.  It boasts a huge percentage of plant-derived vitamin A, the “skin vitamin” that helps promote collagen production.  It's also rich in Vitamin B-carotene and Vitamins E and C ( 50% more than oranges!).  It's bursting with Omega 3,6 and 9 acids and lycopene too!

So how do you use it?  What can it do for your skin?  Rosehip Oil:

  • is a great alternative to a daily moisturiser
  • is scientifically proven to reduce scarring
  • reduces redness associated with facial rosacea
  • improves appearance of psoriasis scars
  • improves the skin of Acne sufferers
  • can reduce wrinkles, crow's feet and fine lines
  • is a great treatment for chronically dry skin
  • is an excellent after sun treatmen

And we bet our members have so many more ways to put it to use!

We're looking for twenty reviewers to put A'Kin's Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C to the test.   This is perfect for post-summer care and taking care of evening pigmentation issues and rehydrating thirsty skin.

But the really cool thing that sets this Rosehip Oil apart from others on the market? It's the extraction process.  See most other Rosehip Oils on the market are cold pressed; the oil is extracted slowly, at low heat.  Or refined - the oil is extracted at a high temperature, which destroys a lot of the goodness.  This is the common method for cheaper oils on the market.

A'Kin's Rosehip Oil uses the Co2 method - which is free from heat and oxygen, leaving you with a more pure and potent product that's more stable.  Did you know the average Rosehip is only good for around 18 months?  A'Kin's will stay fresh for TWICE as long once open - remaining just as potent and pure!

Sounds like the best of the best right?  Well we need you to tell us, so why not get chatting to us about all things 'hippy - have you used Rosehip Oil before?  If you have what did you use it for and what results did you get?  If you haven't used it before - what issue would you use it to target?  How important is the extraction method of oils to you?

I didn't know that you can use oil on a face without making it even more oily. I would like to use it and see the benefits of it for myself and opinions for others

I have used rosehip oil on my face to help brighten my skin. My skin felt wonderfully hydrated after I started using it. Now that I know what the extraction method does to the product, I will be looking more carefully before I buy my next bottle. I would hate for my bottle of oil to go off before I finish using it!

I'd love to give this a try! I am not educated on oils, though I have used two products before, neither were packed with vitamins. I am noticing more redness in my skin, which is new to me. I've been using the same moisturiser for years, would would love to try something else!

I haven't used Rosehip oil before but would love to try it. The benefits seem great!

I love rosehip oil, so amazing for our skin. I use the Trilogy brand every night. Not once have I thought about the process of extracting it though so this intrigues me, also not having heard of this brand and the fact it has the extra benefit of vitamin C excites me. I would love to try it.

I love Rosehip oil. It works miracles when my face gets dry patches and helps reduce my redness and scarring. It feels so nice on the skin too. Interesting to read how the oil is extracted!

Haven't tried this rosehip but have tried a couple of other ones that I found lovely and heaps easier to keep using in the bathroom so would put it on before bed most nights and love it

i have used rosehip oil before many moons ago and remember finding it quite nourishing on my skin

I've heard great things about rosehip oil, apparently it's the best for scars. I have a lot of stretch marks so would love to find something to "fix" them! I like that this has vit c in it! I have used Designer Brands rosehip oil, but the roller ball always gets stuck..... the only other oil i've used is chia seed oil which was really great but smelt a bit strange! I would like to find one to use on stretch marks and age/dark spots on my face.

I love that A'Kin use a new method to extract it sounds very on trend and up to date!

Anything that is more pure, and potent has got to be better, right?! I love Rosehip oil although I didn't really know a lot about it before. I love using it on my cuticles...slightly expensive cuticle oil in some ways but it really works and helps with the dermatitis on my hands. I also use it on my face. A little goes a long way!

I love Rosehip oil, I find it makes me skin feel so soft and smooth and it really helps balance and brighten my skin tone. I have some acne scarring on my face so I find this really helps with reducing the visibility of the scars: My favourite oil has been the Trilogy one however I would love to give the A'kin oil a try. I had never even thought about how the oil is extracted however it is super interesting and this method sounds great especially if it stays fresh for twice as long keeping the oil potent and pure!

I've just started using a Rosehip oil at night time, it's not this one but only yesterday I was raving to my best friend at how good it was and how I've noticed a visible change in how my skin looks, I break out so an oil is not my usual go to but I received one in a beauty box I bought. I will definitely be repurchasing the night oil even if I'm not picked for this trial!

I've never tried Rose Hip Oil before, but I want to now! I would mainly use it for reducing wrinkles and also to get some moisture back into my poor dry skin!!

29th March, 2017

I haven't used rosehip oil before... I want to use it, but I am not sure why I haven't gotten around it. I think I would use it for the aging, and dry skin. I have combination skin, but it always stays dry in some patches. I also worry about my skin aging, and fine lines.
