Do you know HOW your Rosehip Oil is extracted?

Do you love Rosehip Oil?  No?  Then you must not have tried it!  It's just so, so good!  And we're not the only ones who love it - we're in amazing celebrity company -  Miranda Kerr, Gwenyth Paltrow and Princess Catherine; all love themeselves a it of rosehip!

Rosehips are actually the dark red fruits of roses they've havebeen used since ancient times. Mayans, Egyptians and Native-Americans discovered that besides the pleasant-smelling fragrance of the roses, these plants came with extra benefits.

What benefits?  Well..it's FULL of antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids.  It boasts a huge percentage of plant-derived vitamin A, the “skin vitamin” that helps promote collagen production.  It's also rich in Vitamin B-carotene and Vitamins E and C ( 50% more than oranges!).  It's bursting with Omega 3,6 and 9 acids and lycopene too!

So how do you use it?  What can it do for your skin?  Rosehip Oil:

  • is a great alternative to a daily moisturiser
  • is scientifically proven to reduce scarring
  • reduces redness associated with facial rosacea
  • improves appearance of psoriasis scars
  • improves the skin of Acne sufferers
  • can reduce wrinkles, crow's feet and fine lines
  • is a great treatment for chronically dry skin
  • is an excellent after sun treatmen

And we bet our members have so many more ways to put it to use!

We're looking for twenty reviewers to put A'Kin's Rosehip Oil with Vitamin C to the test.   This is perfect for post-summer care and taking care of evening pigmentation issues and rehydrating thirsty skin.

But the really cool thing that sets this Rosehip Oil apart from others on the market? It's the extraction process.  See most other Rosehip Oils on the market are cold pressed; the oil is extracted slowly, at low heat.  Or refined - the oil is extracted at a high temperature, which destroys a lot of the goodness.  This is the common method for cheaper oils on the market.

A'Kin's Rosehip Oil uses the Co2 method - which is free from heat and oxygen, leaving you with a more pure and potent product that's more stable.  Did you know the average Rosehip is only good for around 18 months?  A'Kin's will stay fresh for TWICE as long once open - remaining just as potent and pure!

Sounds like the best of the best right?  Well we need you to tell us, so why not get chatting to us about all things 'hippy - have you used Rosehip Oil before?  If you have what did you use it for and what results did you get?  If you haven't used it before - what issue would you use it to target?  How important is the extraction method of oils to you?

I have used rosehip oil before the Trilogy one and I love it, I used it mainly at night before bed and found it made my skin soft, it also brightened it and reduced redness.

I love rosehip oil as a pre moisture boost before adding a moisturiser on top, an oil such as this is great for removing eye make up, I also like to add essential oil such as frankincense making it a wonderful healing oil & anti-aging oil. Isn't it important to know what we are putting on our skin and I look for cold pressed oil for all my oils whether cooking or beauty.

I haven't used Rosehip oil...yet... But I definitely want to try because it sounds amazing. All the benefits seem a little too good to be true but I'm sure it is worth it! I love they idea of it being an alternative to a daily moisturiser!

I've never used rosehip oil before, just been sticking to my usual moisturiser! It looks amazing, especially as my skin has been unusually dry lately and no moisturiser I can find seems to cut it! Something that has always put me off trying natural oils as a moisturiser is shelf life, although this product says it will last for double the time of any other rosehip oil. I can't tell you how much that appeals to me! I would love to try this product as I'm sure it will be able to rehydrate my skin and give it that glow I've always wanted!

Though I've been meaning to try out Rosehip oil for a while, I haven't yet done it! A huge concern when you are spending money on such a sparingly-used product is the expiry date. I love that A'kin has found a new way of extracting it, with such a benefit to consumers, I mean c'mon, double the time!! I would love to try this out on the dry and red patches of my face, and possibly it could help the worst cracking I get on my hands? I wish!

Yes! Used trilogy one religiously but I found it to be a bit pricey and would also love to try an alternative to see if it works as well! I find it's the best moisturiser because creams tend to have a lot of artificial chemicals that do not sit well on my sensitive skin

I never knew that there was so much vitamin C & E in Rose Hip oil. I've tried it in the past but it was more of a one-time thing (and also trilogy is getting up there in cost) so I never got another bottle. I would love to try this product, especially since it's coming up to winter and could do with a bit of extra hydration.

I was given a bottle of Organic Rosehip Oil by my Mum :) I do have facial scarring so I have been using all over my face/neck instead of a daily moisturiser. It seems to work well, it has helped with dry patches and to even my tone a little, unsure if it has made any difference to the scarring (from burns as a baby) as they are very old :) But I do like Rosehip Oil and would buy it

No idea how but I do love the stuff for my hair and any skin abrasions! I've never thought about how it's extracted tbh! I'm growing out my hair so I reckon this might help it grow back much healthier

I love rose hip oil!! I have used the trilogy range. To be honest, i was not sure what to expect when using it. I was promised that It would dehydrate my skin- and it did. I use a moisturizer daily and it does hydrate my skin, but i was really surprised how the rosehip oil felt on my skin. It felt lovely under my make up and there was a noticeable difference on the texture of my skin. Unfortunately it was only a trial size so it ran out fast. I would love to try the A'kin brightening oil and see how it compares to the trilogy oil. I have high hopes for the A'kin oil as the trilogy was fantastic!

Yes, I do use rosehip oil and I love it. Not really beauty related but my step-mother used to boil the rosehips up to make a cordial because, it was full of vitamin C, and other goodies, and made us kids drink it. Good for you, inside or out!

Ooh I love using different oils on my skin and whilst I've used rosehip oil in the past I'd love to see if this new extraction technique makes a difference.

Such an interesting read about different ways how Rosehip oil is extracted and what makes A'kin Rosehip Oil stands out from th crowd. I have been using Rosehip Oil for about 1 year and a half now and it is a beauty product I can swear by. Over time, it has been brightening my skintone/complexion, my acne scar/dark spot are no longer noticeable. I use Rosehip Oil every night as a moisturiser and notice how beautiful growing my skin looks in the morning. I have tried Rosehip PLUS+ (cold pressed), Skinfood Rosehip Oil and Trilogy as well and to be honest I love them all. I would love a chance to try A'kin Rosehip Oil. Thanks Beauty Review.

I would love to trial this as I'm a big fan of the a'kin products, (I love their leave in conditioner for curls) I have tried rosehip oil before but I don't think it was extracted properly as it seemed to sit on my skin like a big oily blob. I'd love to try this on my pregnant tummy so I don't get stretch marks as well I've heard its good for that :-)
