We Love It When Celebs Get Real!

It must be good to be a famous celebrity. You've people who'll dress you. People who'll take care of your skin. People who'll apply your makeup. Medical professionals who can nip, tuck and inject. There's no reason not to step out looking fresh and flawless every single day.

At least that's what we thought.

This week two celebrities have stormed social media with what their beauty life actually looks like. And you know what? It's so relatable.

Turns out these amazing women are just like us. They get busy. They have careers. They have families. And in their day-to-day business beauty stuff happens. They might forget to pluck their brows. Their grey hairs might stage an unexpected revolt. They'll wake up with a hormonal breakout - and they won't be happy about it.

What we love though is that they posted about it. They kept it real. Who am I talking about?

Drew Barrymore. You beautiful beast. Come on down.

It's refreshing to know that a woman who could have a team of people pampering and prepping her every day of her life, if she so wished, is capable of letting things get a bit loose in the beauty department. I see my brows in hers, and those greys? Welcome to my world. I went from being one hundy percent sure I had all of one grey hair to catching a glimpse of my mop in the mirror the other day and having a wicked 'wth' moment as it seems those lovely silvery streaks had multiplied. Lovely, but not for long. I did what Drew did.

And sorted myself out, stat. One box of hair colour later and my hair was silver streak-free and I felt that little bit more put together. Let's not talk about my brows though. They need more than a pair of tweezers, they need a trip to the beauty therapist... but there are so many hours in the day and as far as I am concerned if I have only enough time for a trip to the cafe for my daily coffee or a trip to get hot wax applied to my brows, the coffee will win every time. Priorities. (Oh, and that's not colour in her daughter's hair, it's conditioner wrapped in foil. Honestly, people in the comment section need to read the caption before lighting up...)

The other celeb who rocked out world? Chrissy Teigen.

Christine Teigen

She popped up on Twitter to show us all her period skin. She could have hid behind makeup and filters or just not shown us at all, but no, Chrissy gets as grumpy as the rest of us get when Aunty Flow comes to visit and brings us the gift of stink skin. And we love her for it.

I think more than anything it's good to know that women, no matter how beautiful they are, how chilled they can be, how glamorous they appear, can have bad beauty days just like the rest of us. And bless their cotton socks for showing us they're as human as we are. Ladies, I tip the hat that's covering my bad hair day to you.

A lot of celebs are promoting themselves now with everyday photos and no makeup photos.

I love those two :)

It's nice to know they're just like the rest of us with the same kind of problems :)

So cool to see them in 'real' situations like this but I think they still look boss, period break outs and all

I think this is awesome. I've always had massive piles of respect for Drew Barrymore, makes me girl crush on her even more ha ha ha. Thanks for keeping it real Drew xx

Love those 'real' celeb photos. But is Drew Barrymore putting foils in her kid's hair?

10th August, 2017

I love Chrissy Teigen full stop. She's such a babe but she's so "real", she dgaf about hiding anything! And after seeing Santa Clarita Diet, I love Drew even more. Two awesome role models right there!

Awesome :)

I love those 'street capture' photos of celebs going about their days with no/minimal makeup and they're rocking it. Confidence in your natural face is amazing.

I do like it when celebrities look more like people. Shows that money can't fix every flaw to a T. And it make them easier to relate to.

I have been loving Drew Barrymore's posts lately! So honest and natural

10th August, 2017

It really is nice for a dose of reality to be put into the image of celebrities. Photoshop and magazines and instagram filters has people believing that it is possible to become sexy and put together 100% of the time. Oh except for when tabloids put out "scandal" photos of a celebrity having put on some weight after having a baby. Like it's unnatural that they aren't looking perfect. So again, nice for the celebrities to cut through all that and reveal the truth: they're human!

10th August, 2017

I have seen these posts and I admire them for being them & they are definitely famous but they're human first. Word

10th August, 2017

Good on them ! Hard to be on show all the time I am sure.

10th August, 2017

I like seeing celebrities without make up . lol at the last line . That's why I wear caps and beanies. When I can't be bothered straightening or combing my hair on goes the hat.

Nope. Her hairdresser put conditioner on the little one's hair and then added the foils :)

Thank goodness. Now I can fully embrace the photo's cuteness :p
