Lipstick’s a wonderful thing. With one swipe it can transform lips into pretty pouts, sunny smiles, desirable kissers. Yes, it’s fair to say lipstick can turn a beastly day beautiful. Speaking of beastly… what inspired this article? A range of lipsticks that literally saw our jaws drop when we caught wind of them…
The internet virtually exploded when the beauty world got wind of this range from Chinese based store, Kailikjumei. Lipsticks that not only change colour based on your body temperature, but also encase a divine flower within the product itself. So Beauty & The Beast. Last I checked they were sold out. Surprising? Non. But worth going gaga over? Well as Lumiere would say… be our guest… You can check out the range here.
So what other lipsticks are worthy of jaw-dropping status?
Etude House has crazy cute packaging at the best of times, but their Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips transcends cute and goes into straight up stunningly pretty status. With its pale pink and gold packaging you could well think it ought to house a high-end serum or perfume.
I don’t need any more lipsticks (well, that’s what I repeat to myself every time I’m faced with temptation), but this is the lippy that could convince me to hand over my credit card. Yves Saint Laurent’s Rouge Volupte lipstick is devastatingly sophisticated. Gorgeously gold with a splash of colour beneath the brand logo, indicative of the lipstick shade. It’s perfection. And also far too readily available for purchase in New Zealand for my wallet’s liking.
Christian Louboutin, not only maker of to-die-for shoes and bags, but also cosmetics. The Louboutin nail polishes with their stiletto silhouette were out of this world, and their lipstick packaging is the same. Sleek, statuesque, and utterly regal. Our favourite from the range? The Loubiminette Sheer Voile, with its vial-esque look. Truly a work of art.
If easy elegance calls to you, you really can’t go past the clean lines of Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Colour range. With its iconic red door logo replicated in gold and silver, it’s a lipstick we’d be proud to pull out of our handbags.
So do tell, which lipstick packaging calls to you? Which would you have at the ready or on display in your collection? Are their other gorgeous lipsticks whose packaging design will bring a tear to our eyes that we need to know about? Go on… enable us…
Honestly I dont think i'd be able to bring myself to use them.. they're just too pretty!!
