The Makeup Tool You Never Knew You Needed - Until Now

So I was at my local Farmer's Market recently and I kept seeing kids waltzing past fiddling and blowing on these twirly whirly machines. A day later I saw them for sale on a local Facebook community page. Turns out these contraptions were called Fidget Spinners and kids all around the world have decided they're the bees knees. And if what we've just seen is anything to go by it won't be long until their makeup loving parents decide they're all that and a bag of chips too!

Makeup artist and CoverGirl spokesmodel, James Charles, recently posted a video on his Instagram where he used a Fidget Spinner as a contouring tool. You can check out the video here.

Basically he took the edge of it, then used it to draw the contour lines on his face before blending them out with a Beauty Blender. Crazy? Cool? Or just a bunch of lighthearted fun?

Whatever you think, we're impressed he even thought to use it for that! And it's good to know if you can't find your contouring brush there's another tool you may well have on hand if you've kids in the house that you can use in a pinch!

So, hit us up with your thoughts - would you use a Fidget Spinner as a contour tool? Do you like how James Charles contouring turned out using it? Or will you be sticking with your usual beauty tools? Get chatting!

His contouring looks flawless! I don't think I'll be giving it a go though, I'll stick with with the usual beauty tools!

This is as bad as the nails. Creative but I mean, really?!

I think I'll stick to conventional contouring. But I am going to have to try a fidget spinner out of interest one day though.

No. I don't think it's a makeup tool. It's just the current trend for doing makeup or beauty challenges using weird stuff. I think my brushes and beauty blender can do a better job. I know for sure James has better stuff to contour with and past posting that video he wouldn't be using a fidget spinner to contour.

Very creative but I can't even contour so won't try it hahaha

This seems like how you accidentally slice your face off lol it looks like such a sharp blade. I do want one though it looks fun to fiddle with.

Haha sounds like James Charles is just having people on! Light fun is always good, so I like it when people take what's current and give it a silly but completely different use :) Don't think I'd be trying myself though!

yeah, nah. I have seen a kid playing with one of these & it was the most distracting annoying things ever.

26th May, 2017

Lol I have never seen one of these. Don't think I will try it anytime soon :-)

Looks like a bit of fun -Good to have found an actual use for it.

26th May, 2017

Hahaha I struggle enough as it is contouring with a brush.

Hmm well that's one use for them, it's interesting how items are completely "spun" off to be use in other ways. Cant wait to tag he teenager who's been nagging for one as to the real reason he's wanting one.
