Finally we can say "move over Ombre, there's a new colouring trend in town". Although we're not sure it's here to stay...
Pixelating your hair is the latest colouring trend, drawing inspiration from the techno world around us, notably games such as Minecraft.
Spanish company Xpresion created the look by accident when styling 4500 models for a show. And they decided the look mistakenly created had something rather rad about it, and develop the technique from there.
The look is created by applying contrasting colours in staggered blocks, giving the overall impression of pixelation. And the trend really is catching on, with Xpresion training stylists in many a salon the globe over. Revlon Professional have even taken inspiration in our header image - one from their latest campaign.
For more inspiration have a search on Instagram for #xpresionpixel. The combinations seem are infinite and contrary to the images we've chosen, there is such a thing as a subtle pixelation!
So what do you think of the pixelation trend? Is it cutting edge or should the trend go back to whence it came? Do you like the look of your head being censored?
Pixelated hair - rad or bad?
I could see this being ultra cool on some people - not me with my white hair though :)
