The Beauty Review Guide To Faking It

It kills me when women say they're too afraid to attempt to apply false eyelashes. They're missing out on a world of glamour and fun, and a look that once you master is a literal eye-opening experience! Well, fear the falsies no more, ladies, because here's our fuss-free guide to getting your lash on!

If you're new to the land of false eyelashes it may pay to start with a more natural style of lash, or if you're a more is more kind of gal, then hit up something with more drama, like the Glam Eyes Miranda Lashes (which just so happen to be featured in our Nudes 2 box.)

So what are you going to need?

Lashes, obvs. Mascara. Eyelash curlers. Eyelash glue, which comes with the Glam Eyes, or you can buy eyelash glue, like Duo. Tweezers for applying the lashes. And scissors - in case you need to trim them down to size.

So, are you ready to delve into the land of lashes? Let's start at the very beginning, because as we all know, it's a very good place to start...

First of all, curl your real life lashes and pop some mascara on.

Then grab your falsies with tweezers from the box and place the lashes up to your lash line to see if they're a good fit. You don't want the false lashes to start too close to the inner corner as this can be irritiating, so start them where your lashes naturally start. If that leaves overhang on the outer corner of your eye then this is when you'll need to trim the falsies - and be sure do to the trimming from the outside of the lashes, not the inside.

Next, apply the glue to the false lash band, not going overboard with the amount used, but it's a good idea to add a little more to either end of the lash band to ensure the lashes are less likely to flick up. Now here's where rookies get a big mixed up - do NOT immediately apply the lashes. Let the band sit for twenty to thirty seconds until the glue is tacky. (This time will vary based on what glue you're using, but my experience with Glam Lash glue is that twenty to thirty seconds works well.)

Once the glue is ready to go, using your tweezers, bring the lashes up to your lash line, tilt your head back and look down your nose (like you're being snobby about something) and apply the lash to the centre. Then using the tweezers (or your fingers, it's really a matter of preference) apply the falsies along the lash line, close as you can get.

Finally, using your thumb and index finger, crimp along your real and false lashes to bring the two together for a natural look. Well, as natural as you can get when you're suddenly rocking beautiful, long, voluminous lashes...

And there you have it! The Beauty Review guide to rocking your falsies!

So, are are you keen to give false lashes a go? Or are you already a fan of the falsies? Do you have any tips and tricks that you use that we need to know about? Sharing is caring, ladies!

OMG I have never tried a pair of false lashes!! I do have a pair, brand new, in the box and it also has the glue in my makeup drawer at home but haven't been brave enough to try them yet lol. Now that I have read these tips I'm going to give them a go!! Thanks BR!!

I layer up on mascara but I would try false lashes they can be tricky I think! Have worn only once or twice

I love false eyelashes, but it's not something I'd be wearing on a daily basis. It takes me forever to get them off perfectly

I used to be really bad at applying falsies. After so much practice I have finally got it down. They spruce up a make up look. Totally worth trying out. Don't give up .

I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

I love the look of lashes, but it's just too much hassle for everyday! Great for a special occasion though

These look stunning on Tabatha and could be a good idea for going out at least.

I love falsies! My favorite ones that are relatively cheap are from Glam by Manicare (you can get them in Farmers for $13.99 I think), particularly in the styles 'Alessandra' and 'Cara'. I prefer lashes with tapered ends, I've even tried mink lashes from Dodo Lashes and another overseas company. Definitely not for every day, but still I love my lashes.

I have been using Flash serum and have been asked if my lashes are real! That being said I probably wont try falsh lashes.

I'd love to but I'm too scared to have to glue something to my eyelids.

I like false lashes and have tried on and off in the past but they never seem to apply properly. Obviously this is probably due to my inexperience, impatience and improper application technique. However I have bought some lashes recently and am going to make a decent effort to learn this properly. That being said, I would probably only use falsies for an occasion and just stick to mascara for day to day. I don't need anything more than that.

I've never been brave enough I'm not the best at getting both eyes even which does my head in. I've had false lashes done at the salon before and loved them. Why is it most boys have really long lashes it's so not fare
