Ombre nails - yay or nay?

2014 really has been the year of the ombre. From hair to eyelashes, one colour just isn't enough!

The third ombre trend of the year is ombre nails - of which there are two kinds:

Each nail has a graduation from dark to light on it - usually achieved with the help of a sponge.
Each nail sports a different shade of a particular colour, with each finger being painted a shade lighter than the last.

We've found some stunning examples from our favourite time stealer, Pinterest. And to show the true versatility of the ombre nail trend, with decided to stick with a blue theme.

I like the first kind of ombre and the two top manis are my fave. I haven't done ombre because I don't have a lot nail polish in the same shades but I wouldn't mind sporting it if someone did it for me. That being said I suck at nail art.

Not a fan of nail polish or nail art on myself as I think it looks tacky but I do admire people who are able to pull off cool artistic styles that actually look how they're meant to

I have been wanting to try the ombre nails for a while now... sadly my nails over the past few months have been rather neglected due to time restrictions... might have to have a play now... hmmm do I need some new colours to blend with first... lol

I love the ombre look! I have tried my own creations at home but not as nice as the ones in the article above, the colours are fantastic. Love everything ombre.

I love it when each individual nail is ombre but I'm not a fan of having each nail a different shade. I think it reminds me of when I was a kid and couldn't decide which colour to wear so I'd just paint each nail a different colour

These look AMAZING and are even something I would try to do myself, I would have to use my daughters as guinea pigs of course (not that they would mind though). :)
