Make Your Mask Work Twice As Hard!

There's nothing like a good face mask to give your skin some added love, and more often than not putting on a mask indicates that it's time to put your feet up and relax while taking some time for yourself. Well you know what? Ain't nobody got time for that! We can relax while we sleep. Instead we think that mask time could be well spent getting those little jobs done that we put off all the time... making the mask doubly effective as we attend to our skin while we attend to our life. Check out these ideas...

1. Inbox tidy up. How many emails have you got sitting in your inbox that need to be either filed away or replied to? While your mask is bathing your skin in goodness, use that time to give your inbox a spring clean.

2. Wipe vertical surfaces. Have you looked at your kitchen cupboards lately? Or your walls? If they're anything like mine they're in need of a good wipe down. Grab a clean damp clothing and get swiping. Warning - once you start this it can be hard to stop...

(How spotless is that woman's wall??? She really committed.)

3. Reorganise your pantry. If you're a serial stuffer-innerer use your mask time to remove the food in your pantry and put it into some semblance of order. Seeing all that nicely stacked product is also calming for the soul. And less wrinkle forming too.

4. If there's stuff and spills in your fridge that are unrecognisable, then it's time to use your mask moment to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into giving you fridge a makeover.

5.  Bemoaning your body's lack of tone? Squat, sit up and do all those other exercisery things the bod squad do to maintain their figures. (Note that I don't know many exercise terms, so this is one mask idea you can be pretty sure I won't be taking part in. Where's the laugh/cry emoji when you need it!?)

6. Ring someone you love. Social media makes it easy to hit 'like' and go about your day. But sometimes it's nice to truly connect with someone the old fashion way. Pick up the phone and have a good natter.

7. Clean your makeup brushes. That's double beauty tasking and we love it!

8. Vacuum the house! Throw the washing on the line! Fold that mountain of linen! (What? Don't tell me I'm the only person with a towel and sheet mountain growing bigger by the week in their house?)

9. Nails looking a bit raggedy? Treat yourself to a manicure!

10. Do the groceries! And by that I don't mean go outside with your face all masked-up. But if you've access to online grocery shopping your mask-time is a great time to sort your groceries out for the week. And if you happen to find your way onto some beauty stores as well... well, who am I to say that's a bad idea? (Now where's my winking emoji?)

So do tell... what do you do when you're waiting for a mask to do its thing? Are you a relaxer? Or do you get things done? Any inspiration to share? Get chatting!

Definitely a relaxer. It's always great to pop on a mask and sit and watch something and have me time.

I'm a relaxer. I take the time to put my feet up and enjoy my favourite shows

I have a face mask on right now and I ain't moving! well, I will to wash it off. and on the way to the bathroom I will most likely throw another chunk of wood on the fire and drop my cup off in the kitchen for a refill. Depending on the day, I'm a do-er, but today.... Relaxer :D

4th July, 2017

Normally watch make up tutorials or a series of my favourite programme.

I just like to kick back and relax. Pop on a movie :-)

I often do masks in the evening so if I have to keep a straight face (like it's one of those masks that tighten as they dry and make my face hard to move or perhaps a sheet mask) then I write reviews, do stuff on my laptop or read. If it's a mask that doesn't dry out and allows for facial movement then I watch a tv series.

I watch beauty video's on youtube or watch an episode on netflix, or further beauty tasks, redo my nails

My go-to mask is still egg white - I still have never found anything better. I usually put it on, often accompanied by some hair product, then do housework for an hour or so then soak in the bath and wash everything off - bliss!

I will relax with silly computer games, make my man a coffee or make the bed - I think that is normally my mask-task.

Kids have learnt it's a good way to get in a computer game before bath time oh mum I have to wait for my mask to set... me I'm normally in the bath with mine nearly falling asleep

I don't often use masks but when I do I do it to both relax and care for my skin. Usually while reading a good book in the bath.

I am a relaxer -I usually run a lovely deep bath and put my mask on and chill out. When I have my hair colour on I find I am more inclined to do the ironing or prepare dinner but masks are my down time and I love it.

Those are good ideas. I never get around to doing masks because I don't want to sit around for 20 minutes, but I can do it while I do my online Countdown shop!

Great tips and time savers. I am a bit of both relax and like to get things done it depends on the mood nobody wants to fall asleep with mask on your face unless it is one you are meant to sleep with on
