It's Beginning To Smell A Lot Like Christmas!

Is there anything more delicious than the scent of a Christmas tree? Nothing says Santa's on his way quite like that heady pine fragrance wafting round the room, infiltrating even the sunniest summery corners of your home. Downside of a real pine tree? Pine needles that need to be vacuumed on the daily (and this pixie ain't got time for that). Disposing of the tree. Oh, and trying not to kill it. True story - last time we had a real tree by the time it got to Christmas Day mine was a deadish looking hot mess. We then bought a fakey. Downside of a fake tree? There's no scent! What's a girl to do? Get her Christmas candle on!

Check these hotties out...

Fresh pine. The name says it all. Ecoya has hit the nail on the head with this candle. The scent it throws is Christmas in all its present wrapping, carol singing, excitement-on-the-eve glory.

Usually we're all about the Tahaa candle from Glasshouse - but when the silly season starts our attention turns to their Christmas offering, and this year they're blessing us with Under the Mistletoe, a delightful combination of cinnamon, apple and berries. Mental note to self: Don't sniff when it's burning. You don't need a Rudolph nose.

If Christmas lillies leave you feeling festive, but you don't want to deal with the pollen dropping all over the show and staining everything then the Surmanti Christmas Lily is for you! All the goodness of the real deal without the stamen chopping admin.

One of the best bits about Christmas? Christmas parties! And what would a Kiwi Christmas party be without a freshly cut juicy strawberry bobbing about in a glass of bubbles? Keep the party going with this delicious Champagne + Strawberry from Miller Road.

Sweet Orange & Clove from 'Mmm...that's nice!' is warm and spicy and when you close your eyes and breathe in you can almost imagine snowflakes floating from the sky as a fire flickers and crackles in a hearth. It's a white Christmas in seriously stylish packaging.

Candles really are a divine way to enhance the feeling of the season, and a brilliant way to keep the memories going once Santa's done his dash! So, will you be getting your burn on this festive season? What scents are your go to? Chat away!

Mmm I sniffed at the 'mmm... that's nice' range in a local boutique gift store and I must say I am more than tempted :D And Champagne and strawberry Miller road... where do I find these? :D

I'm currently using a French pear soy melt. It actually smells quite xmasy as it has a spices/cinnamon undertone.

I hear you in the real xmas tree. I was almost tempted again this year after saying "never again". It was the disposal that put me off more than anything so Kmart tree it is!

Im currently burning a candle from a NZ company 'The Red Shed' - the scent is White Mistletoe & it smells soooo good mingling with the pine tree smell of our real Christmas tree

Yes definitely will be using up some of my candles that I have received lately. Vanilla scents mainly

Scented candles are one of the best Christmas gifts and my favourites are the floral scent. They make you feel fresh and breath fresh too.

Under the Mistletoe is so Christmassy!

I'm actually really impressed with the new Essano candles in supermarkets. They smell great and are soy!

I always purchase fresh scented candles for the Christmas season. My go to is a lily scent. Currently burning one from mor. My next go to is a deep berry scent. However reading this article makes me miss the smell of pine. I always had a real tree as a child, but have become too impatient to wait p. I like to get the tree up ASAP

I will have to look out for the Ecoya Pine, sounds like something I would love. In our apartment lobby we have a real christmas tree, smells amazing!

I'm loving the mmm that's nice range! I have the diffuser in our lounge, and the candle in our bedroom in the evenings. Glorious scents.

A better question would what won’t I be burining this Christmas.

I have me few years old Ecoya pine candle that always get burnt this time of year but I have also recently purchased their dark chocolate, meringue and raspberry candle. Is smells edible and even unlit I can smell it if I’m close. I have also purchased the aromatherapy limited edition candy cane candle. Seemed like a must have considering my name and it a really subtle scent and not too minty.
