How Many Times a Day Do You Cleanse?

There are two types of people in the world - those that clease once a day and those that cleanse twice a day.  Ok, there are three types of people - but if you're not cleansing at all, well, we need to have a very, very serious chat.

The base to any skin care routine is cleansing.  Washing your face is the best way to achieve clean, clear and healthy looking skin - so it stands to reason then that washing your face morning and night is even better for you right?  I mean you wash the day off when you cleanse in the evening - sweat, grime, makeup.  And when you cleanse in the morning you freshen up skin that's been rubbing and smushing around in your pillow case.

Welllll...it's not quite that simple - if your choice of soap or cleanser is too harsh or drying then cleansing twice a day can have a negative impact on your skin.  Think dry, sensitive skin.  Using the wrong cleanser twice a day might even make your skin more oily! It's a bit of a catch-22, use a cleanser twice a day have super clean skin, but risk making it drier or oilier in the long run.  Use a cleanser once a day and you might just feel a bit grimey.

What's a girl to do?!

Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash is gentle enough to be your twice a day cleanser, yet effective enough to thoroughly remove the dirt and debris on your skin.  All without stripping the essential oils. This is THE cleanser for sensitive skin!

This gentle cleanser promises to avoid tight skin after washing and to keep skin cleansed and nourished.  It's 100% soap free and pH balanced, making it non drying.

We're going to be putting it to the test (of course), so why not tell us about your skincare routine?  Do you cleanse once or twice a day?  Is your current cleanser working for you?  How does your evening routine change from your morning routine?

I have to at least cleanse 2 times a day! Although I do feel like it strips a lot of the moisture out of my face even though I have oily skin. I'd love to find a product that will allow me to cleanse without getting rid of too much moisture since I usually use a scrub every few days then I regular foam cleanser.

I give my face a wipe with a flannel in the mornings and proper cleanse at night to remove makeup

I cleanse twice a day, morning and night. I don't want to strip my natural oils from my skin but love feeling fresh and clean

Only once a day in the shower, i'm thinking i should start cleansing more. Currently using a Lush cleanser.

Definately try to aim for twice a day but sometimes simply can't be bothered really need to get more consistent with things

14th March, 2017

Sometimes I cleanse twice a day, but most of the time I'm so busy that I only manage to do it once! My face gets thoroughly cleansed/scrubbed/moisturised at night, though mornings are a completely different story. Although I'm enjoying my current cleanser, I find that there is always room for improvement.

Twice a day but double at night, depending on the make up/oil level.

I cleanse twice a day - in the morning and before I hit the shut-eye. Is it currently working for me? I like the feel of my cleanser but I will definitely try new products. My routine is the same morning and night - I am a creature of habit.

I cleanse twice a day, I dont feel fully awake unless my face is nice and clean. There is also nothing better than removing the makeup and cleansing again after a long day!

12th March, 2017

I definitely cleanse at night, and some mornings if I feel like it. I love the feeling of fresh clean skin after cleansing. But I can see that cleansing too much with the wrong product could be bad! I like to follow up my morning cleanse with a serum to rejuvenate and hydrate. I like the sound of this product, it sounds gentle but effective.

Twice a day for me. In the morning, I use a convenient cleanser in my shower (La Roche-Posay Toleriane), which I love because it's effective on my mature / dry skin. In the evening, I do a double cleanse.once with a micellar water (just about finished my Bioderma Sensibio - which I like, but I have to order it online and it's a bit expensive. I've bought the Simple one and am ready to start that any day, so I'll be able to make a comparison). Then I either use my La Roche-Posay again, or my CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser which feels slightly more active). It's amazing how much make-up comes off with that second cleanse!

i cleanse when i wear makeup...so maybe once a week...

HOWEVER...i have a little facial brush in my shower so use that when i have a shower with a bit of soap. morning wash is just soap and water. and i do the occasional facial mask. i have fairly normal skin, so don't really go crazy about skin care

4th March, 2017

My skin needs something which is gentle without any harsh chemicals. I want to use it at least twice a day because I am so busy that I will find time hard to use it done than twice a day. I want the results which are visible within the first week.

4th March, 2017

I cleanse in the morning as I have its important as bad stuff builds up on your face while you are sleeping and it's a good wake-up call. Evening I need to clean away the makeup because your pillow doesn't want to wear it!!???

4th March, 2017

usually once a day when Im having a shower :)
