You might know this already, but the Beauty Crew are huge fans of primers.  We are very much on the 'it's a crime not to prime' bandwagon.

We're not going to tell you once again how primers smooth your skin, even your skin tone and create the perfect canvas for makeup to adhere to; instead we're going to talk about a different kind of primers - tinted primers.

When you think of tinted products you probably think of moisturisers or lip balms - an everyday product with just a hint of colour to add a subtle oomph to your look.  Tinted products generally only come in one or two shades, the idea being that the pigments will be quite sheer - they're not going to offer coverage, more they'll balance your skin tone.

Tinted primers are becoming the next must-have tinted product - imagine how much easier your BB Cream or Foundation would be to apply evenly if your skin tone was even first.  You can get lilac toned primers to counteract the yellow in sallow skin and green primers to balance out redness.

We're putting Dermalogica skinperfect primer spf30 to the test!  This illuminating make-up prep will smooth away fine lines, brighten and prime for flawless skin and to prep for make-up application. Velvety silicones combine with Soy Protein to even out skin texture, as natural minerals provide a neutral tint to balance skin tone and enhance luminosity and radiance.

We're looking for 10 fantastic reviewers to put this $88 product to the test, so if it sounds like something you'd love to try, why not tell us why below.  And while you're there, tell us your experience with tinted products - have you tried a tinted primer before and how did you find it?

I love primers with tint!! The tint can do different things, like cancel redness, or dark circles. And it can smooth out your skin tone ready for foundation!! Get it on my face I say!

I've been using the Garnier BB cream, which I got to trial, under my foundation since it doesn't have enough coverage for my liking to wear by itself. I think it adds more depth of cover & a better finish to my foundation, so I would love to explore this idea further & try a real tinted primer!

I haven't used a tinted primer before! Unless you count the correcting green primer by elf which I quite like! Primer makes me skin so smooth and soft which makes putting on foundation all the more easier, and minimises my pores too :) I would love to try this, it looks like it would be the perfect base!- good for brightening the skin :)

I have not used a tinted product since a tinted moisturiser I used made my skin look really shiny and oily. I used a violet based primer and that didn't, in my eyes, do much difference and I had read some reviews on other primers not being very good so I kind of just kind of gave up on primer.

I'm a criminal, I do not prime. Convert me?

Sounds interesting! Would be keen to see if this could work well with a BB cream for summer so I can ditch my foundation (especially on less-than-awesome skin days...) a little more often :)

I have a tinted primer but I don't actually use it anymore because it's too light for me

This sounds fab I have only ever used bb cream it definitely something I would like to try out :)

I had never even heard of tinted primers before, untill now. Could this possibly mean you could wear it alone aswell as under foundations and bb creams? I would love to know how even my skin tone would look after applying a tinted primer. BR, you officially have me intrigued x

I've never even used primer before! But after reading up this week about different primers I'm off to purchase one today. Would love to trial this one so I can compare it to the one I buy today and see whether I prefer the tinted one. I love the sound of green primers to balance out my red skin tone!

This sounds amazing! I currently use a non tinted primer under everything and simply bybitself however, I suffer from a lot of redness on my face from old acne scars and broken capillaries. Im very interested to see if this could be the answer to many of my facial woes!

I've only recently started playing with primer and I really like the feel of it on my skin. I'd be interested to see how it evens my skin tone before foundation and what impact that has on my foundation coverage. Would it have to be well-matched to my skin?? I would love to try this product.

This sounds like a wonderful idea, would work really well with BB creams I am guessing, for a lighter effect. Great with summer approaching. Would love to give this product a try.

I would love to be part of this test for the product. I have used primers in the past and as I have very sensitive fair skin that is prone to redness it is something that became a huge blessing in the minimal beauty items that I trust. I used this in the past and due to a medical condition have not felt the need as much but would love to try one again and get back that great feeling that it helped to give me. ..Thanks

I have never used a tinted primer! Only primers, bb creams or tinted moisturiser. This product sounds amazing, reducing your fine lines, making your skin flawless with the primer then adding in the tint to help even out your skin tone prepping for your daily make-up. Would love to have the opportunity to trial this product x

Ive never used a primer before, could never see the point, lol. However, as I get older I definitely seem to be more interested in these kinds of products. With a few wrinkles and crinkles id be keen to see if a primer could help even things out. :-)
