Exercise Hair. How To Keep Cool When You’re On Fire!

By BR Amelia

You’re pounding the pavement, pushing out some push-ups, caning it on the step machine, the sweat is dripping, your eyes are stinging, your hair is a bedraggled mess and you’ve never felt less hot while being so hot in your life. What’s a girl to do? Sort out some exercise hairstyles!

A sweatband is probably the perfect workout hair accessory, because it keeps the hair back while dealing to the sweat and it can look cute too!

Of course if wearing a sweatband reminds you too much of Mark Knopfler, there are other options, like braiding it up. Whether it’s a double or single French braid, or a series of braids tied up, the hair will be kept off your face and will still look great post-workout!

From messy buns to ballerina buns, buns up the top of your head or positioned at the nape of your neck, the humble bun is an easy and stylish option to try whilst working out if braiding is not your forte.

If all else fails? Ponytails for the win! Scoop it up, slick it back, pop a tie around it and you’re good to go!

So do tell? What is your hairstyle preference when exercising? Have you mastered a style that keeps sweaty hair out of your eyes while still looking good? Why not post it to the Beauty Review Photo Wall and inspire us with your gym style? Sharing is caring!

Messy bun all the way! Keeps the hairs at bay and doesnt whip me like a pony does. I have been wanting to try a sweatband/headband but havent found any that I love yet!

I love a headband if I'm inside, although I rock a hat always when I am out excercising in the sun- gotta protect your skin from the sun!

Pony tail all the way. Just keep out of John Keys vision.

I Just put my hair into a high ponytail.

A very messy bun ontop of my head! :)

A plated ponytail wins for me hides the frizz and keeps it off my face and neck and if it's really bad a hat will do nicely too lol.

French braid and then I clamp up my braid with a jaw clip. I exercise just about every day and that holds my hair out of my face the best. But I do need to take out at the end of workout and let my hair dry otherwise it starts looking greasy fast and my ends are still dry.

right now i have medium hair length so i m prefer ponytail and sometime messy bun. messy bun looks great actually.

I just chuck mine into a ponytail. Some bits tend to come out but it doesn't bother me too much. Maybe I should get a headband to use too.

I have extremely thick hair so very hard achieve the look cool look while exercising . Ponytail easiest or as current short cut.

I find sweat bands just make me sweat more lol I'm a bun right on top of the head kinda gal. I can't stand feeling hair on my back and a ponytail will always come loose, so it's the only remaining option. It does the job nicely I feel.

Ponytail for me. Quick and easy up do.

A bun or a ponytail are my choices. It depends on how my hair is behaving.

15th February, 2016

When I used to exercise my hair was in a bun, i found it simple and didnt get in the way of things, Sweat bands always made my face extra sweaty lol

I've found buns and even pony tails rubbish, they fall out and come loose with the excessive movement. Two braids is perfect- even weight distribution, no bumps at the back if you're lying down, they are just so hard to do on yourself- but that's why I have three daughters right?
