Does your hair tie snap, snag or slide?

Hands up, who has a hair tie somewhere on their person, right now?  I have one on my wrist (I KNOW, you shouldn't do it), and one in my hair.  And one in my pocket.  And I've just had a dig around in the sofa and found three.  So there you go, without moving I have six bobbles* within reach.

Where would us mid to long haired gals be without a hair tie?  When life gets busy, mucky or active a bobble can make all of the difference to getting the job done.  And yet, they're not without faults.  Too small to wrap around three times, too loose when wrapped around twice.  Snapping.  Snagging.  Sliding.

And the NOOOO! when you lose or break your favourite elastic.  Sigh.  There may well be bigger issues in life, but at that moment, right then, the flump is real.

We're going to be sending out FIFTY packs of Mita Active Non-Slip Snag-Free Elastics to reviewers.  Each pack contains a mix of thick and thin elastics, ideal for all hair types.  The bands are snag free and won't pull or tug hair when you remove them, AND they each have a special non-slip silicone strip, which means your pony tail will be held firmly.

So - why not share your hair tie thoughts below - have you found the right hair tie for you yet?  What do you look for in a hair elastic?  How many do you have on you right now?  And have you found the answer to the age-old question...where do all the lost hair ties go?!

Once you have at least five well written reviews against your profile you can apply to join our Expert Review Panel by filling out this survey.

*Bobbles, don't you know, are what we Poms call hair ties.  That or hair bands.  Which is more confusing, so, I stick to bobbles.  What do you call your hair elastic?

Between me and miss 12 we have all the usual hair tie issues. Nothing is more frustrating when you are mid hair do and the tie snaps, then the hunt to find another 5 mins before you have to leave.

I have been using my homemade hair tyes with fabric elastic, the ones you literally cut & tie in a knot, the ones that are super overpriced in stores!! They're good for not putting kinks in my hair but they're a bit too bulky when I tie my hair up, I like my hair tyes to be slightly discreet at times which is why i was so stoked to see these ones as you can get colours to match your hair! They're also pretty rough on my hair, tends to snap my ends quite a lot. I'm a blonde, so would love to try these ones out!! And hello, a resealable pouch? Ahhhh, be so good for your handbag! x

I have hundreds of hair ties... somewhere in my house. They disappear to never be found again!!! I like seamless hair ties, more because I find my hair gets tangled even more if I have those metal joins to contend with. It's also about the stretch for me, I have an abnormal amount of hair and I need to be able to wrap the elastic around my hair several times comfortably and securely without cutting off circulation to my fingers in the process. Would definitely be keen to put these to the test xx

Oh the dreaded hair tie! There is nothing worse than seeing all those hairs come out with the tie and that feeling of it sliding out throughout the day! 2 loops not tight enough, 3 just that bit too much! I love to tie my hair up whilst I'm working so it's out of the way but get annoyed with the loose strands that eventually make their way free! My daughter does dance and suffers the same fate so I would love to trial these on both of us to see whether they are an effective hair tie or an attractive rubber 'bracelet'!!

I have reallllly long hair, way past my butt. And finding a hair tie that will keep my hair tied up tight without slipping is hard to find. Also I can't stand the hair ties with the metal clasps on them,I have had to rip plenty of hair out from being caught in those,if they havn't already snapped.

I find hair-ties so frustrating at times, either they have no stretch and you can't loop it more than twice and it never feels secure or they are so stretchy and you have to loop and loop and loop then it feels too tight. Hair ties always seem to disappear or when you do find one and start tying your hair up it breaks and launches across the room. I mainly tie my hair up for work when I am in a rush and also every time I work out.

I have bought a million hair ties but they all get eaten by the" hair bobble monster".... good friends with the "odd sock monster". I do find the odd one in my handbag, toiletry bag, work drawers, under the bed etc. I haven't found the perfect hair tie yet - one that is perfectly tight, doesn't slip, and doesn't take half my hair with it when I take it out.

I'm a hair tie junkie, theres a stash in my car, my bag, and at work. I'm a Group Fitness Instructor and plaits are my go to when I'm taking a class, to keep my hair out of the way, but more often than not I lose my hair tie half way through the class from jumping around so much! I would love to find a hair tie that'll stay in place !

These sound great! I also have the same delimma - 2 loops and it's loose and three loops and it's snag central back there. I call them hair ties, but my cousin always called them hair elastic which I thought strange ah good job we love diversity!

I remember calling them bobbles when I was little -but I think that's because I wore ones with decorations on them, or bobbly bits. My hair is really thick and I can never find the right 'bobble' would be great to test out the silicone strip to see if that stops it sliding!

Yes please. Not only do I snag but when I finally get the tie out it is a lovely wee ball of hair firmly attached to it that I need scissors to remove. I have a lot of hair. Lol

UGH I have the worst time with hair ties! I always break them, they break my hair; there's no middle ground between too tight and too loose - I just give up!

I hate it when you hair gets tangled!

18th April, 2017

Ohh this looks like it could bring me back into the normal hair tie camp! I have been converted to the hair ties that look like telephone cables for the last few years and I have found them not to get stuck in my hair, leave kinks, or slide around too much. I got so sick of smaller hair ties getting all tangled in my mop of hair. These would be interesting to test out in my crazy head of hair to see if they do come out snag free!

Yes it's always so annoying when 2 isn't enough, but it's not enough to go around 3 times. I usually just have 1 on my wrist, and sometimes it'll be gone 1/2 way through the day. I also hate the ones with the metal band, because they hurt - would definitely be keen to give these ones a go!
