Does your hair desperately need REPAIR?

We all know that styling, colouring and environmental factors can damage our hair - but do you know the signs that your hair is in desperate need of repair?  Here are a few warning signs to look out for.

Quick Dry - If your coloured hair dries almost instantly after showering it's a sign that your hair has been made very porous by the chemicals in the hair colour.  It's a vicious cycle too, as porous hair will absorb too much pigment into the hair, giving you a too-dark result.  You also may find that your hair colour fades faster, as the porousness of the hair releases too much of the color as you shampoo.

Water Test - When you next find a stray hair, run your finger nail down the shaft to curl it (like curling ribbon with scissors).  If when you drop the curled strand in a glass of water, it doesn't uncurl it means your hair has lost it's elasticity.  Heat styling is normally the cause - it can cause the cuticle to lift up to lift up, releasing valuable moisture and leaving shafts brittle.

Split Ends - The occasional split end is normal - but when the ends of your hair look like uneven straw it's a sign you are continually damaging your hair.  When split ends aren't trimmed regularly the hair is more likely to split further, 'spreading' the damage up the shaft of the hair.  Do not be tempted to trim the ends at home - dull scissors will again, split the hair more!

Dull, dull, dull - If your hair refuses to shine, even with the help of serum or intensive treatment - it's more than likely damaged!

If you're showing the signs of damaged hair, you need to begin a routine for repairing it.  You probably know of salon treatments using advances in technology to repair your locks, but in a few weeks time, you'll be able get this technology at home!  We've got our hands on the new Schwarzkopf range before it's nationwide release on March 20th!  EEEP!

‘Plex’ is a revolution that is changing the hairdressing industry an innovative hair repair treatment which protects the hair from damage during the colour process by rebonding broken hair fibres.  This technology is now available with Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy  hair care range with OMEGAPLEX® which helps to repair your hair, strand by strand.

Fibre Therapy promises:

  • to help rebond and seal broken hair structures for silky, smooth hair
  • to protect the hair from damage and encourage the creation of new bonds

The FIFTY members of this trial team will be putting the Fibre Therapy Shampoo, Conditioner and Repair-in-Oil Spray Treatment to the test.  Now all three look a-maz-ing, but the Repair-In-Oil spray?  Colour us excited!

This innovative treatment spray is formulated with two phases to provide double-effect results - it's a beautifying oil for shine and supple hair, AND with Schwarzkopf's OMEGAPLEX® ingredient it will also reconstruct your hair!  Told ya - it's a goodie!

So - tell us - is your hair showing signs of damage?  Is it caused by colouring, styling or something else?  Have you been putting off colouring your hair to prevent further damage?  Would you like to trial the Schwarzkopf Fibre Therapy range?

I would love to do this trial.. I have been unwell lately and my hair always seems to reflect that. Its currently very dry and needs some great products to get it back to feeling good again

I have very dry frizzy hair that seems prone to split ends, I get it coloured at the salon and use a hair straightener occasionally. I would love to give this a try to see if it can stop my hair splitting so much

Exciting!! I've been looking at olaplex options for at home as salons are so expensive. My hair is so damaged lately, I think partly stress and partly from the balayage. It's looking very dull and damaged even after a cut. I'm really looking forward to this product! It will be great on my daughters super long hair too.

i'm in two minds, because Schwarzkopf is a bit hit or miss for me, but always keen to try things and my dyed hair loves a bit of TLC!

Oh my goshness YES YES YES!! My hair has been overbleached (yes I am one of those DIY dyers and didn't learn my lesson) and is now broken and frizzy and dry as a bone in a desert. I would love if this trio would help me out of my predicament. I have stopped bleaching and have had the hairdressers colour my hair dark again. I am now needing to give it some TLC so if this is the miracle I need I am all in face first.

SQUEEEEE hair products.. my fave. I have dyed, frazzled hair, of course it wasn't enough for me to bleach it so I have to make sure it's fully frazzled by straightening it. I have been almost kind to it lately and ditched the home dye and opted for the salon getting it cut and dyed every 5 weeks.. yes it does grow too fast

Oh my god, I NEED to try this! I love Schwarzkopf and use their products for colouring, bleaching, and washing my hair. My hair is pretty bleach-damaged and I'd love to see if this makes a difference.

I'd love to be on this trial team. Since giving birth to my daughter last year I've found my hair is in desperate need of repair. My main concerns are dullness and split ends - haven't had the time to regularly get them trimmed.

I'd love to be apart of this trial team of all, my hair is in desperate need of revitilizing and feels almost like wire and is a dull red color

I thought my hair was bad but after reading this I do t think it's that bad! It takes forever to dry so mustn't be porous - maybe a few split ends but that's my fault in not wanting it trimmed very often (for fear of a scissor happy hairdresser trim)

Every time I visit my hairdresser she tells me how dry my hair is. I've been using argon oil but it's not cutting it!

I would love to try this and see if it provided the moisture my hair is sorely lacking!

My hair isn't too bad at the mo except for being dull which I hate.

I looked at this in the shops. I will have to try these tests. I think the only one I'll fail is the shine test. I use a shampoo/conditioner that hydrates my hair then a hair serum. And it makes it nice for a day or two before the bottom half goes dry again. The top half is pretty good.

My hair is definitely showing signs of damage, so I would love to be on this trial! I colour my hair black every few months with box dye. I also straighten and blow dry my hair at least three times a week. Doing these things has caused my hair to become dull and damaged at the ends. I did the water test and that confirmed that heat styling has definitely affected my hair. I'm always keen to try a product that claims to protect my hair from damage and help retain colour.

Yes! My hair is so fine it damages easily, from the sun, heat and colouring. I'm frequently changing shampoos but yet to find one that actually helps consistently! Would love to review this product!
