Do You Wax or Epilate Regularly?

Fun fact.  The average shaver spends 5 minutes a day shaving.  That's 2.5 hours a month.  30 hours a year!  That's a lot of time spent removing something that begins growing back a day later.

For those of us not wanting to invest 1 and a bit days of our 365 into hair removal; other options offer the need to remove hair less frequently, saving time overall, with longer-lasting results.

Both waxing and epilating boast up to 4 weeks of smoothness - in exchange for a little pain of course.  Where they differ is that epilation doesn't affect the skin in the same way as waxing (which requires a wax to be applied directly to the surface of the skin) so epilation is considered best for sensitive skin.  And, those that epilate only spend around 40 minutes a month tending to hair removal - a huge yearly time saving of over 22 hours, compared to shaving.

The Braun Silk-épil 9 SkinSpa 4-in-1 epilator (RRP:$299.95) is the world’s first epilator and cleansing brush system. As well as including Braun’s best Wet & Dry epilator for long-lasting smooth skin, the set comes with a deep massage pad to help improve skin tone and appearance, two exfoliation brushes for gentle and deep body exfoliation, and a facial cleansing brush which removes make-up and impurities 6x better than a manual face cleanse.  [Read below for some product highlights]

We're looking for some great reviewers to put Braun Silk-épil 9 SkinSpa to the test and to report back to us with their verdict.

I've tried epilation in the past but don't currently epilate. I love it for my underarms as it makes the skin look lighter not having the dark roots under my light skin. Waxing regularly is way to expensive for a student like me and I'd love to give this another epilator a go, especially as I have dark coarse hair that is a pain to remove.

I'm a regular waxer, but interested in epilation as an alternative,I pick this option , I usually wax , I bought the Veet 50ml Easy Wax Electrical Roll On Kit Legs and Arms an innovative self-heating wax system with a roll-on applicator for salon wax results at home, just to discover is very hard to find the refills!!! It was my waxing system for a couple of years , now to get the refills is a nightmare in NZ and prices are very expensive,I used to get the refills for around $20 dollars lasting for three waxes .

Now just goggling some options you find them for over $40 dollars as the refills has been discontinued or not many left around , they not longer sell this little waxing machine either it was the best I have tried so far .. so now in the hunting for a new way to removed all the unwanted hair I have! If this epilator can work as good as my waxing system i'm happy to give it a go!

None of the above applies to me fully. I have in the past used wax and electrolysis as hair removal options. Electrolysis although very successful in doing what it says it does the level I needed to remove the hair was more then a few choice words!. It was also a very long slow process often needing a lot of visits. Waxing isn't to bad I find it quick and fast not overly painful but having the time to go to get the treatment done or the time to set up and do it at home makes life a little to hard with two very young children so I haven't been able to continue. This product looks like a better alternative in regards to getting the shorter hairs (bonus as summer doesn't really allow for any growth time) I imagine I would do this less then a razor so saving time in that respect and would be quick, easy, convenient with children and takes very little time. I am very interested in trying this product to see if the variables I have outlined are in fact true and to see the effectiveness on time saving, pain level and quality of the results would be as accurate as I imagine. All in all I would love to give this a try and hopefully help me and other women take the switch if it lives up to the comments above.

I usually shave my legs and wax every now and then. I would LOVE the opportunity to give IPL a go. It would be interesting to see the difference and I feel like I would save SO much time simply by spending less time shaving! I've read and heard alot about IPL so I would absolutely love to try it out in real life. :)

I have tried waxing because some of my hair is so thick, I have been looking at different eplilators but it's hard to tell what is good!

I'm actually a shaver but everynow and then over winter I go a bit longer and get my legs waxed. Ived tried IPL on my bikini line but having dark hair I had to have about 6 sessions which was costly. I'd love to try epilation at home.

I'm a wimp and epilation scares me but I would love to give it a go!

Never tired epilate before cos I’ve always been too afraid! But this one sounds different... I’m very interested

I usually epilate and I love it, however I haven’t over the last four months as I have become really frustrated with my epilator. I can do my lower legs no problem, and the back of my thighs are easy enough, however the tops of my thighs, particularly close to the knee area, are just brutal. I’ve tried waxing with limited success. Additionally I have become frustrated by the length of time it takes me to epilate both of my legs. I’m researching for a newer model which could potentially pick up more hair during each pass to achieve a really great result. I did come across this model in my searches, would love to hear how the trial goes!

I've tried epilation in the past but don't currently epilate - the devices I have used in the past have been on the budget end of the scale and haven't been amazing so I'd love to try this one!

11th March, 2019

I'm a wimp and epilation scares me, but I would give it a try. I've only recently started waxing and it does get easier with experience! I have sensitive skin so shaving is always convenient but causes bother in the days following. I hate armpit hair and if epilation helps prevent regrowth as often, yes please!

1st March, 2019

I’m way too much of a chicken to bother with waxing, but epilators has always appealed to me - it’s just the price tag which has put me off buying into it. I’d loooove an alternative to shaving all the time, the shaving rash I get occasionally and the constant itchiness when my hair starts to grow back - argh! Pick me!

28th February, 2019

I would enjoy trying this, my sister has one similar and she loves it, I want to see what her excitement is about!

27th February, 2019

I’ve always been a bit nervous about trying this! I find waxing so painful!! But this one sounds very interesting! Would be super keen to trial it.

26th February, 2019

I have never tried an epilator before and am so interested! Only waxing, plucking, threading or shaving, all which hurt in their own way! Super interested in trialing this product.
