Rule number one of a good skincare regime is to cleanse the skin properly, removing all make-up and grime. The last thing you want is a product that could be putting more on to your skin than it is taking off.
When I was asked to pick a product for the Best Beauty Box Ever Staff Picks box, everyone looked at me with 'whatttt?' faces when I immediately said, 'Simple wipes'. Like, what, a wipe isn't an exciting product?!
I bet somewhere in your house there's a pack of one kind of wipe or another. What started off as a parenting staple has since taken the Beauty Aisle (and Personal Care, Cleaning and Pet Aisles) by storm.
Why decant a separate product on to a cloth or cotton pad, when you can simply wipe and go? Well it seems every facet of the industry has asked this question - and come up with a wipe to make life easier. But perhaps the trickiest wipe to get right is the good old facial cleansing wipe. Clean, fresh skin, left with no trace of grime, dirt or makeup is the ultimate cleansing wipe goal. But let me ask you - how often does a cleansing wipe clear your skin of all makeup? With little to no effort? Without leaving you feeling stripped bare and dry?
Almost never. I should know - I try a lot of products, and wipes just seem destined to let you down. Lucky for me, I've already found the perfect wipe. If there's one product I won't break the habit of using it's today's trial product. Yes, I've been using these for over ten years! Well...actually fifteen years. Ok, fine. Seventeen years. I've been using Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Wipes* since I was 15. I don't have wipes on the go at the moment, even though I love them for when I need to remove make up and just cannot be bothered! In the past I've definitely been put off by brands where the last few wipes are all dry, or the worry that the ingredients/material of the wipes will make my skin react. If these Simple wipes delivered on both these fronts I'd be very happy, and they would become a staple!
