Do you touch up your make up everyday?

Once upon a time women were scorned for buying and wearing cosmetics.  They were still expected to look beautiful of course, but any 'extra help' was expected to be secret.  A Victorian woman would never be seen touching up her lippie in public, let alone be brazen enough to apply a full face!

Somewhere along the way, that changed.  I grew up watching films where real ladies were constantly heading to the powder room to check and touch up their makeup.  No true lady was ever without her compact.  Ok I grew up watching films from the forties and fifties but still, I learned that makeup needed to be maintained through the day or evening.  The Queen (the real Queen, not the Queen of BR) has been known to discretely reapply her lipstick after finishing a banquet and hey, if it's good enough for Her Royal Highness, who are we to disparage?

And then somewhere along the way, I grew up and got busy and decided that I did not enjoy touching up my makeup, and began seeking out either long lasting formulas or low maintenance looks.  It's only really on a night out that I might touch up my lipstick, and to be honest, I'm probably more likely to whip out the lipgloss, sans mirror and go with that.

But am I the norm or is New Zealand full of ladies that touch up their makeup regularly through the day?  Do they carry a full makeup arsenal and check every aspect of their look?  Or are we a nation of quick touch ups, maybe just carrying a lippy and a mirror?

I always seam to take my make up with me in my handbag but very rearly do i bother touching it up. To be honest i dont see the need to. If i find its looking patchy of course ill touch it up. but with the help of my maxfactor primer and good quality make up i dont find it wears off very often.

The only thing i touch up would be lip products or perfume. I can't imagine having to check my makeup constantly but in saying that, i have dry skin so i don't need to worry about excess oil.

I must say that I don't really touch up my make up during the day. If I do it's just to reapply my lippy. Sometimes, now in winter, I do see my foundation looking cakey halfway throughout the day but I'm never bothered to touch it up, I've just more been looking for a long wearing foundation to last all day.

I don't I top up my lippy and would love to dab a bit of powder on my nose, but I end up way to busy at work so I just try for stay all day products, mind you this time of the year and being cold and the odd sniffle I think sometimes my nose has a we shine, I just catch the odd glimpse and think oh powder that and I get side tracked.

I touch up even when I'm just at home it feels and looks better for me especially when havung oily slick skin by 2pm I've become a bit shiney... so some setting powder fixes that and as for lippy or gloss if I'm not wearing my Lasplash then reapplying lip product is necessary... Always caring around in my purse my makeuo bag

most of the time just lippy. But occasionally I will carry other stuff too - depends on how the day is planned

Nah I don't bother with touch ups,my make up seems to last all day anyway and the only thing that I do re apply is my lipstick with a touch of gloss over the top.

I will touch my lippy up a couple of times a day and maybe put a touch more powder on in the afternoon if I feel I need it. I don't like to be constantly reapplying though so tend to use things that are relatively long lasting.

I carry some items just in case but to be honest I don't touch up as often as I probably should. Some of the things I wear have better staying power than others (that really makes a huge difference) and the fact I carry anything with me at all is simply by habit. Lippy and lip balm are the exceptions here.

I always carry my MAC Studio Fix powder and the lippy I'm wearing wherever I go! I normally touch up my makeup at least once during the work day. Sometimes I have to wear a surgical mask during work which causes some of my makeup to rub off so it needs touching up, othertimes blowing my nose catches me eyeing up redness around my nose.

With oily skin like mine it pays to touch up - I don't like to appear greasy!

A little of both I guess. I carry all my products with me daily, like they are permanently in my bag but not everyday do I do touch ups. I work in retail so my appearance has to be A+++ so i do touch ups on days i work long shifts. If its a day of nothing or short shifts then i apply it once and then i'm done.

At work I need to keep my make up looking fresh so I definitely touch it up throughout the day. I am lucky enough to have products at work so I dont have to carry too much with me.

Most certainly don't carry everything with me. Maybe a lipstick and lipbalm and some Q-tips and eyeliner. And some days I if my lipstick is low maintenance like nude I don't even carry it with me.

Nope, once it's on it's on.

I do remember a time in my teens when I used to take my entire makeup collection or almost everything with me. I ended up with a few melted lipsticks from leaving my handbag in the car so I'm wary about carrying makeup with me all the time.
