Do You Tone Your Blonde Hair at Home?

Going blonde isn't a low maintenance choice.  We all know the regrowth is a pain to keep up with, and of course, how many 'I wrecked my hair' horror stories have we heard?

But let's say you don't mind the upkeep, and have kept your hair healthy, is that all there is to being blonde? Nope.  Unless you've stumbled upon the perfect shade, you're going to need to tone.

Toner cancels out and corrects unwanted tones in your hair, from brassy or yellow, to orange or ash.  Toney evens out your hair colour - it's especially important if you've had your regrowth done, other wise you're risking blonde stripes.  Toner also 'seals' your colour, adding incredible shine.  Think of it as a topcoat!

We're putting Brilliant Silver White Hair Toner to the test.  This at-home product claims to be the fastest and easiest toner around - which lets be honest, is always a selling point when it comes to hair colour products!

All you need to do is add a few drops of Brilliant Silver White to a jug of warm water and pour over your hair.  No washing, no rinsing.  When your hair is dried you'll see the full results - no more yellow or brassy tones for up to 6 washes!

Here's some facts about Brilliant Silver White:

  • There's 30 applications in each bottle.
  • It can be used on blonde and grey hair.
  • It adds softness and shine.
  • It is certified cruelty free and Vegan by Peta.

So...we need some blondies to give this a go and tell us...is the hype real?  Can you get your best blonde hair, ever, in just a few seconds?

I've toned my hair at home for the past 10 years! I'm a Fudge Purple Shampoo addict and I've yet to find anything else that even compares. It's definitely a hard shade to maintain but I love it

Had been blonde for many years, then decided to go copper!! I use a purple shampoo and conditioner as it throws so many brassy tones its not funny!

this would be awesome, as i bleach then tint my hair to get it the right tone, lucky i have short hair so it gets cut off regulary so it doesnt "fry"

I currently have a blonde balayage however is does go gold very quickly with my natural hair having a warm undertone. I use the fudge purple shampoo which works but often leaves a purple tint to my entire scalp which isn't pretty so would love to give something new a try!

I recently tried it but the hairdresser did it for me after blond highlights but 6 weeks later before I had a touch up..... I was surprised at the difference it made.

I have recently gone blonde (2 months ago) and am looking to try something new to keep my hair from turning yellow between salon appointments! Maybe this is it?

I currently use Fudge clean blonde toner shampoo and conditioner, it's pretty good but often leaves my hair with a slight blue/purple tinge so am keen to try something new that will allow my hair to keep the super blonde clean

Wow! this product sounds amazingly simple and fuss free unlike the toners I'm used to. I've recently taking the dive to go all out silver blonde but it's hard yakka keeping my tresses the cool ash colour I want without splashing purple mess all over my bathroom. And even then the end result is always mixed with apprehension and on some occasions disappointment. I've tried most of those paste and liquid toners, toning shampoos and conditioners, leave in purple moose and lately I have half serious considered the latest diy trick of using food colouring and cider vinegar...... HELP me, I would love to trial this product... Sick of purple streaky yellow hair.

I haven't but I think I may need to and this looks really quick and easy, would love to try it

Yes I do. I use a purple shampoo or a conditioner. Can be costly and I tend to use from my hairdressers their brand alternating with a normal conditioner, or if on special I use a brand from Perro's Hair in Rotorua. Would love to use something that sounds soo much easier to use
