Do you set your foundation with powder?

Face powder used to be a staple beauty product - no lady would be caught without her compact - what would she do in the powder room?!

But a few years ago powder seemed to become a bit of a forgotten item, lumped in with other 'nanna' products like Rose Water and Cold Cream.  But like all good things, they seem to have a way of coming back in style.  Watch any YouTube tutorial and chances are they'll 'set' their foundation with a powder.

We're going to be putting the Moisture Mist Translucent Pressed Powder to the test.  This product is perfect for keeping your makeup fresh and reducing oil sheen. It's so handy and compact and has a built-in mirror, meaning it's perfect for on-the-go touch ups.

So if you'd like to put your hand up for this trial team, why not tell us your thoughts on powder - who uses face powder these days?  Does this product still have a solid place in your make up routine?  And if you do use it, what format do you prefer? Does the compact still rule? Or has loose powder taken over?

I'm an oil slick an hour after I leave the house....I need some matte in my life!!

For me face powder is a definite necessity. I use loose powder but would like to start using it in other forms.

Can't live without powder I work long days so need to lock my foundation and my becca loose finishing powder never fails me.. Very good stuff

I try to but at the moment I have run out. Moisture mist doesn't test on animals so I would love to try this.

I have oily skin so need something to set my liquid foundation. Powder works really well for me as a touch up at work or before going out as well.

I have recently purchased a matte creme compact as I thought it was a powder and this didn't work for me.

I also like that with compacts you can apply with the sponge/puff or a brush, whatever tickles ya fancy!

I use BB cream and then powder. But I feel like it isn't really working for me so would luuuurv to try something that might do what I need without seemingly drying out my face!

I have pretty combination skin. And I like the look when I pat a nice powder across it to set it. Done right, it shouldn't look cakey at all.

Yes always! I find that powders can sometimes make me look cakey - so I have been on the hunt for the perfect powder to match my foundations more recently.

I feel like if I don't set my makeup with powder, that I look too greasy and am afraid it won't last as long. I wish I didn't have to though as sometimes I feel I look too powdery in some lights

I've always been a loose powder kind of girl to finish my look. Pressed powder seems to always finish cakey looking on me. Would like to try a translucent powder to see if it achieves the same result With the cake look or feel

I love powder and always use it to set my foundation, my face looks so much better and makes my face stay in place.

I find a powder compact applied with a soft brush gives the best overall finish for my makeup! An absolute necessity !

I had stopped using powder for a long time however with oily skin I find it really helps keep the oil at bay and help my foundation last longer. I generally go for compacts as I find loose powder so damn messy!

11th May, 2015

Powder is essential and my preference is loose transculent powder, it makes my make up last so much longer

11th May, 2015

I am currently using liquid foundation and loose powder afterwards. I am happy with the result, but wouldn't mind to try this Moisture Mist foundation with powder. I might change my mind ;-)

i always use a translucent powder , takes away the shine
