Do you have Shoepidity?

Shoepidity: The act of wearing ridiculously uncomfortable shoes just because they look good.

Shoes.   A classic case of the beauty frenemy.

They're our friends because they complete our outfits, make us feel fabulous and fulfill the very real need to buy all the shoes.   They're our enemies because, well, they make us shoepid.  We choose style over the health of our feet.

Come on, we've all done it.  Worn winklepickers when you need a wide fit at the best of time.  Lived in cheapie ballet flats without so much as a pop sock on,and refused to throw them out when they stink.  Trampled around in UGGs with no thought for ankle support.  Walked from club to club and danced the night away in heels that made the sole of our feet burn.   Worked standing up in shoes with soles so thin we felt every little jolt from the floor.

But we're women.  We may suffer from shoepidity but we also know how to fix the pitfalls of our poor footwear choices.

We're putting Footcare Solettes to the test - and these could solve many of our footwear problems.  These shock absorbent foam half insoles  have a unique anti bacterial ultra fresh formula that kills odour causing bacteria.  They absorb perspiration, keeping feet dry all day long and prevent slipping and friction.

We think they sound pretty good, but we need you to tell us your thoughts on them - yes, we're putting together a trial team.  So why not tell us if you're shoepid?  Do you buy shoes knowing they're not going to be the most comfortable for your feet?

Whilst I dont wear ridiculously high heels I still experience uncomfortable shoes at a lower level. These sound a great idea.

Shoepid to a degree... I live in higher heeled boots and sometimes strappy heels but if my feet are hurting too much I either ditch them for more comfortably worn boots. I can't wear flats or low heels that well at all. Sore feet equals grumpy mummabear

I generally know my limits when it comes to the size of a heel and try to keep within them! I did recently pick up a gorgeous pair of heels and wore them last week to a friends engagement party which left me in a bit of pain by the time the clock struck midnight! Would love to trial these so i can give my heels another shot ;)

Oh my god I was just looking for these in the Warehouse the other day! I'm just starting to wear heels and they kill me feet. Would love to trial these

Certainly! Style over the health of feet. I keep telling myself not to buy those that are so uncomfortable for my feet but once I see what I really want, I buy them no matter what by making excuses such; wearing them for a few times, the feet will get used to them and the pain will go away.

I love shoes and I don't care how much they cost, whether they're on special at No 1 or full price at the local boutique, if they look gorgeous then comfort comes second. I always carry bandaids and padding to help my aching toes. I know I'm going to regret it when I'm old but I just don't care - I love shoes!

I have collapsed arches and find it hard to wear heels because the soles of my feet start to ache about half an hour after putting them on. It is quite frustrating as I like wearing heels. These sound really great and it would be interesting to see if they help the problem.

Oh yes!!!!! It's all about how pretty they are right?!!!

When I was younger, I remember my mom saying I'd regret my shoe choices later in life.

I hate that she was so right ;)

18th March, 2016

whenever I buy a pair of autumn/winter boots I usually stop wearing them soon after as my heel hurt so bad after a while, I never thought of putting things in my shoes to make it more cushier so to speak. Maybe I need these??

HaHa - obviously autocorrect has never heard of WINKLEPICKERS ????

17th March, 2016

Wrinkle pickets - ah that takes me back in time, but they were jolly uncomfortable as I recall.

I'm a super sensible shoe gal. Flat are my friends. After being diagnosed with a balance issue heels are just completely out of question. Would be nice to get that soft feel of sport shoe in a flat dainty slipper too thoigh
