Coffee Scrubs - do they work?

Ok hands up - who needs a cup (or three) of some form of caffeinated beverage to get going in the morning?  We're huge fans of caffeine in the Beauty Review office and not just out of a drinking vessel.

It's safe to say 2015 was the year of the coffee scrub, but was it a fad trend or are we still as in love with them halfway through 2016?

Scrubs are a way to exfoliate your body by using rough grains to smooth away dead skin cells and hard skin build up.  Other than the smooth skin you can expect these benefits from giving your skin a regular scrub; acne prevention, minimising the appearance of pores and they're also amazing for boosting circulation and can help even skin tone over time!

Coffee scrubs are effective in two ways - one the grinds are rough and abrasive, perfect for well, scrubbing.  And of course - caffeine.  Caffeine is full of natural antioxidents which can stop free radicals from impacting on your system—and keep your skin looking healthy, gorgeous and glowing.

So with big claims to combat cellulite, encourage cell renewal and to detox and hydrate your skin we want to know - are coffee scrubs still your go-to scrub or have you moved on?  If so, what are you using now?

Oh I LOVE coffee scrubs! My ultimate fav is the Bossy (Now Bonbon) Coffee scrub, it smells like caramel coffee and it exfoliates all the dead skin away, when I used it on a regular basis I noticed the cellulite on the sides on my legs weren't as noticeable and there was a radiant glow all over my body, which reminds me, I need to repurchase more especially for my pre-tan <3

Yes I've tried two brands the first brand is the Bonbon (use to be Bossy) it's an amazing scrub it did wonders lofting old layers of skin & leaving me feel soft & supple another brand didn't do so well in fact title left me breaking out &I gave it on to my brother whom got a better result so I think it may have been to harsh for me.

I have a charcoal scrub and a pomegranate and raspberry scrub but I've never used a coffee scrub. I'd like to try the bossy one though

I can't get enought of them. Frank is my preferred brand as I love the range of sents and ingredients to choose from. I have super dry skin and I love how they exfoliate and add moister to my skin. My boyfriend also loves them and it has become a regular date night activity.,

A good loafer or scuba mitt is more then enough to get really polished and exfoliated skin. Paired with a beautiful bodywash, whaaallllaaa done. I feel so sorry for the person who has to clean the shower.

I'm not sure I'm convinced but I do own two, I'm nearly finished my one from Australia and it's quite good it has coconut oil in it as well so I do find it quite moisturising after using it. Huge downside is the mess in the shower after using it and they say to wait five minutes before rinsing it, honestly I'm not going to wait five minutes in the cold lol. My next bag is one I got in a beauty box called Mr Bean but I haven't opened that yet so will wait with baited breath, maybe not lol.

I don't think I've tried a coffee scrub before actually. But I've tried plenty of body scrubs and they're all good.

Never tried a coffee scrub, have heard they are pretty good but would really need to try for myself :)

I don't like to drink coffee BUT on my skin wow! I have the Bonbon vegan one (previously Bossy Cosmetics). I use it in the shower and the feeling afterwards is heavenly. I can't say that I love the smell afterwards though, it's kinda soapy and coffee like urgh! I tend to put up with this for the soft skin feeling. I have even tempted my husband in to using it because he gets dermatitis which flares up when hes milking cows. The coffee scrub helps keep his skin less dry and scaly. As far as celulite fighting goes, I don't see any change there because if that were the case i'd be bathing in it. I still have cottage cheese everywhere so until I am proven wrong I will continue to just use as a scrub.

I didn't use it so I have no idea what to expect from it. But let's see in future.

Gosh, I do enjoy a good scrub. I love my coffee in a cup and last year I discovered I love coffee in a scrub! This is my at least once a week treat, and oh the softness it leaves in its wake...I do have to confess it looks like there has been some kind of "accident" in the shower, but it all washes away. I feel so soft and fresh, revived as well. I dont know what I did before this.

the Bossy (now BonBon) coffee scrub is amaaaaaaazing. It's been outta my life far too long <3

I've never tried a coffee scrub before, but they're definitely on my list of things to try out!

I have always used sugar scrub or seed scrubs. But I would love to try the coffee one cause I love the smell of coffee and I did hear they are good for cellulite.

I've tried a coffee scrub before but to be honest I haven't noticed much of a difference. Sure my skin feels cleaner as its been exfoliated but I feel that an exfoliating glove achieves similar results. I do love to drink coffee so the scent appeals to me but I haven't noticed reductions in cellulite or anything
