Boy Brows. Are You On Board?

So I was buying wine a few Friday's ago at the supermarket and there was that weird moment when the checkout operator paused, scanned my face, and I knew what was coming...

"May I see some ID, please." Along with a nervous smile.

Apparently people get angry when they're asked for ID. Which is ridiculous, aside from the fact they legally have to, if they think you look under 25 - even if you are under 25 - it's a good thing. Especially when you're 38 years of age. I told the woman I loved her. Bought my wine. Then drank a glass that evening with a grin on my face.

It got me thinking though... this is the second time in the past few months that this has happened. What's changed? I don't have the taut and luminous skin of those younger. I have wrinkles around my eyes and on my forehead. There's no way I look 25 or any year below that.

Then I read about the new K-beauty eyebrow trend that apparently makes us look younger. It's called 'boy brows' or 'straight brows'.

I kind of have those. When not smiling my brows are pretty darn straight, with only a slight natural arch. And this look has been emphasised of late as plucking and gussying up my brows have been at the bottom of my life list.

So what are these boy brows and how do why do they give the impression of a youthful glow?

Basically, as their other name says, they're brows that are straight. There's no, or very little, arch. Yes, an arch can open the eye and lift the face, but it can also be overdone and therefore more aging. However a straight brow is considered youthful because it harks back to the days when we were young and didn't bother or know how to pluck, so we just had this softeness going on.

Achieving the look of a straight brow is relatively easy too. Just grab a brow pencil, something that gives a more natural look, like the Bilion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil, then fill in your brows as you usually would, and if you've an arch you'd like to minimise do feathery strokes to fill it in. Avoid bolding up your brows and harsh lines.

Who knew de-aging one's self could be that easy?

So, are you a fan of the boy brow? Do you rock one? Is it something you're tempted to try? Or are you all about hte arch, baby? Chat away!

I have quite sparse eyebrows, not from plucking them as I have never needed to,they just always grew like that.I have always longed for thicker brows but sadly not to be the case for me.When I was a baby people used to ask my Mum whether she plucked my eyebrows lol,as if!

I like thick brows, but I prefer a bit of an arch.

I would say I wouldn't try this trend, but that's also like saying I wouldn't date Johnny Depp... it's not really my choice!

I have big brows, but I don't like. I've always like the arch.

I've recently started rocking it, but I still like them to be shaped and tamed, only keeping the thickness

I used to pluck my brows too thin I like an arch but also prefer my brows thicker and tinted these days. Not sure if straight brows would work for me but I could give it a try

Love big brows but I think I'd still need a tweezer for those hairs that just grow too far away

Yep I have no problem being asked for ID and hope they ask til I'm 30. Not so sure about straight eyebrows.

38 year old been asked for I.D. I told the women I loved her. Bought my wine. Then drank a glass that evening with a grin on my face hahahahaha

I don't rock the boy brows mainly because I wear glasses and so I can't have my frames cut into my brows. But I do make what I have look really good with some pencil, powder and gel.

I am NOT a fan of heavy, drawn brows that are mirror images of each other. Our faces aren't the same so why should our brows be? So I'm glad to hear that there is a new trend in the brow world. I like a natural brow with groomimg in the form of tidying up edges and lines, and for the people with little brow hair, good featherblading is great! (One of my girls has had it done)

I naturally have arched brows but prefer straighter looking brows, as arched brows make me look more 'mean' for some reason. Wouldn't go as far as the one in the photo though!

I used to always have thick brows. I love the billion dollar brow pencil nothing has come close to it yet.

No I like a more styled shaped eyebrow however each to their own.
