Every one knows the secret to good skin, hair, nails, general health and wellbeing isn't a magical exilir - it's water. We don't need to be told we need to drink 8 glasses / 2 litres a day again do we?
A recent article in a UK newspaper stated that 1 in 5 women do not drink enough water. The statistics here in NZ are that 60% of all Kiwis do not drink enough water. That UK newspaper ran a 4 week challenge to if water really makes that much of a difference to our health and appearance - the results were quite startling!
42 year old Sarah increased her water intake to 3 litres a day and after four weeks noticed a number of changes. She lost 2lbs, an inch off her waist, had more energy and much improved skin. (We're suspecting a little bit of make up in the after photo, but still the effects are pretty good!) The only thing she changed in her routine was that she drank more water. She admits to still having boozy nights and drinking caffeinated drinks!
So can a simple change such as drinking more water have the same dramatic effects for anyone? We want to find out, so Beauty Review is going to run our own 4 Week Water Challenge - and we want our members to get involved!
We'll start on Sunday (everyone knows starting a life style change on a Monday is doomed to fail!), so if you want to take the challenge it's really easy - email us your before photo to [email protected], or send them to us via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Then increase your water intake for 4 weeks and note the changes you see (this could be weight, waist measurement, skin, hair, nails, energy levels). At the end of the 4 weeks send us your after photos!
We're not recommending everyone drinks 3 litres (there is such a thing as too much water!) but check out this great Kiwi health site for Water Guidelines.
And yes we know we're asking a lot - to appear on a national website without your make up on; so in the spirit of Girl Power, if we get 10 members accepting the challenge; we'll persuade one of the BR team to join in!
And it wouldn't be BR without a trip to the endless prize cupboard - we'll randomly pick one entrant at the end of the 4 weeks and send them a little something-something!
