Garnier Fructis Goodbye Damage Shampoo and Conditioner Review

This just might be the best smelling shampoo and conditioner I have ever used.

The Goodbye Damage Shampoo and separate conditioner is a new range from Garnier Fructus that uses some very fancy sounding vitamins and oils to help repair heat damage and other 'external aggressor's'. It smooths and fills in the cracks caused by the above factors and claims to fix 6 months of damage in 3 washes. Honestly, I'm not sure if that's happened during the week that I used these products BUT my hair is definitely softer and easier to manage. It dries straighter and feels so nice and clean that I have to stop myself touching it. I also really like that the fragrance really does linger in my hair until I wash it even with the daily use of straighteners.

I really love the price and accessibility of the shampoo and conditioner and really like that I can pick it up whilst I'm doing my groceries. it has also lasted well so far as I found myself not using as much as I would usually.

Overall I think this is a really great shampoo and conditioner combo, they really complement each other and make my hair feel clean and amazing!

The packaging of the bottles was very eye catching. I loved the bright orange with the image of the citrus fruit, very aesthetically appealing. The scent of these products was also a very big plus for me, the citrus-ey sweet scent was to die for. It left my hair smelling so fresh and yummy.

The first time I tried these 2 products I used them separately which was fine. Although, I did find that the shampoo lathered much more than the conditioner and that is why the second time I trialed them I used them together, almost like a 2 in 1 product. This way I got the lather that I liked and it was also a more efficient way of hair cleaning, bonus! I really did like how the shampoo and conditioner were paraben free as chemicals are bad and damaging for hair, but I did miss the lather in the conditioner. Both the shampoo and conditioner washed out easily which I liked as my hair is medium to long in length and there is nothing worse than standing in the shower for a long time just waiting for your hair to rinse clean. Once out of the shower, I noticed my hair would leave a nice citrus scent wherever I walked and I was not complaining.

For the fairness of the trial I let my hair dry naturally (as I would do any other day of the week). My hair felt a little bit softer afterwards but not as soft compared to head and shoulders which would leave my hair feeling soft, clean and light afterwards. One thing that I didn’t really like about the products was that my scalp got really itchy all of a sudden about a week later although I am not sure if this was to do with me having a sensitive scalp or the shampoo and conditioner just not getting rid of dandruff as I would have liked. However overall, I did notice a small improvement in the amount of my hair that would break off and fall out when brushing it.

Overall, I found that the shampoo and conditioner treatment was good for the price of it, as it was very affordable compared to the normal products I would normally go for. The best thing about it was the citrus scent followed by helping with my hair break off and fallout. I will definitely keep using this product until it runs out as it did work like it said it would. However, I don’t think I would re purchase it as I get better results with other products such as head and shoulders as it caters to my hair/scalp needs that little bit more.

I think in order to get the results I got, you really do need to use the Shampoo and Conditioner together as I didn't feel the results were that great when used by themselves.

Shampoo felt like straw while rinsing and Conditioner just didn't have the wow factor of that silky smooth feeling I would have liked. But when combined they did an okay job.

It's great that the Shampoo and Conditioner were easy to identify one from the other, one being up one way and the other, upside down (hope that made sense) so you wouldn't actually get them mixed up between the two.

The colour of the set is vibrant and eye catching, with all promises of being your next wonder product with various ingredients that all do different things for your hair.

Sadly this collection didn't excite me and I didn't look forward to using it as some brands I have tried. Good that Garnier are branching out into using new oils and ingredients in their haircare range though.

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this set of shampoo and conditioner. I have fine, but voluminous, dry hair, so I need to use hair products that moisturise my hair without weighing it down. I also lighten my hair, which makes it drier than it would ordinarily be. I have used both the shampoo and conditioner twice before writing my review.

The Goodbye Damage range comes in bright orange bottles, and you get 250ml in each one. Both bottles have flat lids, which is great for standing them on their heads so that you can get the very last of the product out of the bottle.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are white. The shampoo smells like citrus, while the conditioner smells like pineapple. It was easy to squeeze out both products from their bottles, and also easy to distribute them onto my hair. The shampoo lathered easily, and the conditioner was easy to comb through the ends of my hair. Both were easy to rinse out after I was done.

The shampoo and conditioner both left my hair feeling soft and moisturised without feeling weighed down. The ends of my hair felt nicely moisturised by the conditioner without feeling heavy.

I think this shampoo and conditioner range is great value for the price. I have paid more for other shampoos and conditioners that have done less. It is definitely worth giving this a go if you are looking for a new shampoo and conditioner. I am going to keep using both of these after the trial is over.

This striking orange duo is a great option if you're looking at changing up your regular routine. They smell amazing - not too overpowering, but make your hair smell great even the next day.

The shampoo lathers up really well and is a lot more creamy than other shampoos, it makes my hair feel really clean without it going frizzy.

The conditioner is also really creamy and makes my hair noticeably softer when I rinse it out. It also makes my hair so much easier to brush.

I have noticed some differences to my hair this week - my hair is softer, more hydrated underneath, less frizzy, and easier to brush.

As far as supermarket shampoo goes and for the price point, I like this shampoo and conditioner. I felt it gave my hair some good added moisture and didn’t leave my hair limp and life less, I was able to brush my hair easily without to much knotting afterwards so for me I felt like it is a good sign that it is doing a good job at helping to stop more breakage from happening . Love the fragrance of this range and the packaging is super fun and cute. As far as repairing my hair long term I’m not 100% sold would need to try it out for much longer to get a better idea; but it is a very nice range to use none the less.....and it’s so pretty in my shower!!!

My hair is quite dry and damaged from colouring and heat styling so I was very keen to try these products. The smell is amazing, and its one of the few shampoos I've used where you can still smell the scent the day after washing! The packaging is nice and bright, easy to open and use. I definitely found this product did make my hair feel quite soft and silky, I didn't notice any added shine but the overall condition of my hair did improve. For $5 a piece I would definitely use these again.

I have enjoyed trialling the Garnier Fructis Goodbye Damage Shampoo and Conditioner set, but not for the reasons advertised!

I only had a small amount of damage in my hair, but I didn't find these products to help with it at all, either individually or in conjunction. My hair was left thoroughly cleansed and soft, not weighed down at all, but not noticeably better in terms of health/quality. I didn't mind though, since my hair was already in pretty good shape.

The packaging and formulas of these two products were both consistently great, and I loved the tropical scent in both products. I would probably consider repurchasing, if only Garnier didn't test on animals! Overall two nice products, but probably not the best options if you have seriously damaged hair that you want to fix up.
