Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Gift Set

I was super lucky to receive this in the last beauty vault (thanks BR!) and my overall impression (now that I've made a good go of trying out everything) is that this is a really great little kit (and good value!), although not all colours will be for everyone.

Beautiful colour palette:

Eyeshadows: I really enjoyed these (glisten, the gold colour, is my favourite!) although they weren't the most pigmented I've tried. When I got this set I was really excited for Mediterranean (the blue shadow), however I probably get the least use out of this one because of how sheer the colour is. The colour is *slightly* buildable, you just need to be prepared to work at it.

Blush: I love this blush, and actually already owned the full size. Really pretty colour (a nice pinky apricot colour that I think would work for most people) with nice pigmentation and a bit of shimmer through it. The only thing I would say is that it didn't quite fit my blush brush, so you might need to get a bit creative on the brush you use with this one.

Shimmer powder: This is super shimmery, so not for those who aren't a fan of a bit of glitter, but overall a really nice highlighter.

Kabuki brush: This is one of the main reasons I went for this set in the beauty vault, and I wasn't disappointed! This brush is one of the softest brushes I've felt, and is so nice to use. I'm currently using this for powder but because it has an angle to it, it would make a nice blush brush too.

Lipsticks: Peony (the pinker one) is my favourite (really pretty colour with a nice shimmer through it), as amethyst is a little too on the brown side for my personal taste. I've passed this on to my mum, who loves it! The formula of both of these is really nice and hydrating, which is great. Love the gold metal packaging of these lipsticks, too - so pretty!

Lip gloss: This is a pretty gloss, and works well with the peony lipstick shade. Smells amazing, and is a nice, smooth and not-too-sticky formula.

Lip pencil: This pencil had a really nice, creamy formula but isn't a colour I would ever really wear. Goes nicely with the amethyst lipstick, though, so mum got that one too!

Mascara: This is a really nice mascara if you're wanting nice natural lashes that don't look too dramatic. Really nice and black, the only downside was that it was so tiny! Good for travelling, though.

Red door EDT: The last item in here was a tiny cute little bottle of the red door EDT which came packaged in the most adorable little red door glass bottle. I didn't think that I was going to be a huge fan of this fragrance because it's always seemed a bit of a nana perfume to me, but it was surprisingly nice and is going in my travel bag!

Evening bag: All the products came packaged in a cute little silver sparkly evening bag. This didn't feel like the best quality in the world, but was a nice way for the products to come packaged together

Tips: The eyeshadows aren't the most pigmented, but I found they work much better if you use them with a decent eyeshadow primer.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Gift Set

First of all THANK YOU to Beauty Review for the opportunity to get these products free from the Beauty Vault xoxo

1.Beautiful Colour Palette A beautiful, shiny, gold palette filled with some awesomely pigmented shadows, a blush and a highlighter. I have actually been using this daily. The highlight colour as a base shadow and the brown colour on my outer corners blended in. The colours show up beautifully, stay on all day without creasing (they do fade, but they fade evenly), are easy to apply and blend really, really well. The blush is too small to use, my brush does not fit in the palette without touching the other colours so I haven't used it. I absolutely love the rest of the palette though.

2.Lip Products Again, beautifully packaged in gold, the set came with two lipsticks in both Amethyst and Peony. I like Peony the most but have still used the Amethyst a couple times. Both colours are creamy and soft. They don't sit in the lines on my lips and stay on for a fair amount of time. The gloss (Rose Creme) looks amazing over top of Peony and also gives a really pretty shine when worn alone. The formula of the gloss is slightly sticky, but not too bad and smells AMAZING. Not too impressed with the packaging of this one, it looks kind of cheap and is rather small.

3.Mascara The mascara is nothing special. I do like that it is small and good to use on bottom lashes, but it dried out really fast. I would imagine the full size will be a better product, so am reserving my judgement on this one.

4.Kabuki brush I was very excited about this brush as my old Kabuki brush had seen better days. Unfortunately it was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be and the strands are too long for it to be effective. I tried using it to apply powder, but it felt too flimsy and did not work the product around my face very well.

5.Red Door Perfume Mini I was least excited about this part of the set as Red Door reminds me of old ladies. However as it turns out, this smells very nice on me, so I have it sitting on my desk at work to pop on when I forget to put perfume on at home. I am worried the lid will come off if I carry it in my bag - it doesn't seem to sit on top very securely. So on my desk it has stayed.

6.The Clutch This clutch is so me. It's so sparkly, I just love it and have taken it out a few times. I'm not too keen on the little chain, but apart from that I really love it, and it was a nice addition to the set.

Overall, I love this set and am so glad I had the opportunity to receive it.

I love this!

I was lucky enough to get this from the BR beauty vault <3. It is, however, a set I would never go out and buy because of the price.

The set itself is soooo pretty!

The clutch is very girl, glittery and glam. Not my taste, so I have given it to my 8yo daughter.

The palette is a visually stunning mirror gold. There are 4 shadows, a tan, dark brown, blue and pink. I love the tan (Glisten) colour. But not really keen on the other three. It also has a blush (sunblush) and a shimmer (Nude shimmer). The nude shimmer is my favourite thing in this palette. its a translucent, pretty (yet not OTT) sparkle and I use it on it's own when I can't be bothered with shadow; or on top of shadow for an extra pop. The applicator is redundant.

The lip gloss is in Rose creme. It is a sheer light pink gloss and it smells aaaamaaazing! Like caramel chocolate (a pitty it doesn't taste like that LOL) The gloss doesn't really give my lips any hint of colour which I don't mind and it is slightly sticky, but I'm still happy with it.

The two lippys - Amethyst 23 and Peony 20. Both are really nourishing formulas, they go on smooth and don't dry out my lips. They don't seem to last very long but I don't mind that. The Amethyst is close to my own lip colour, I don't like it as much as I like the Peony. It is a pretty rosey pink colour with a slight gold shimmer. Of all the products I got, this lippy is my fave.

Red door Mini 5ml perfume. Firstly, I absolutely DISLIKE Red door perfume (bad childhood memories, but that's another story LOL!), so I was ready to dislike this perfume. But either the formula has changed, orrrr it smells different on me than it does on old mean grandmothers? Because I actually LIKE how this smells on me. It isn't heavy or overpowering, it smells totally different to me, fresh and clean. Whatever it is, I really like it!

Something for everyone

I got this via the vault as I love Elizabeth Arden products and knew I could always re-gift anything that didn't work for me I will describe everything in detail piece by piece:

The set comes in a sparkly evening purse which is cute but too sparkly for my tastes so has been donated to the sallies as I have heaps of these types of bags about the place.

The Kabuki brush is cute, glamourously gold and the angled bristles are super soft and it has become my fave powder brush already.

The Mascara which is travel sized and from the beautiful colour line is quite your standard type of mascara wand/formula - great for my handbag.

The Taupe lipliner is a nice deep neutral cool toned brown-nude, too dark for my skintone so I have re-gifted but it is a lovely texture/long wearing pencil of good quality.

The two ceramide lipsticks (in gorgeous metal 1950s style gold cases ultra glam) are beautiful a bright cool toned pink which is definitely not my colouring (has been regifted) but the shade Amethyst (which is surprisingly a gorgeous plum toned nude brown) is fabulous and a lovely sheer lipstick which looks lovely with the gloss (rose creme) that comes with the set - lovely formula again, a great super pale nude pink with no shimmer which I love and great vanilla fragrance.

Palette - comes with 4 eyeshadows I like all of them except the pink which is terrible for my colouring but the mediterranean is a beautiful deep sultry navy/teal blue and the cinnamon is my new fave mid-tone bronzy brown, all have great pigmentation and are a tad more shimmery than I usually like but they wear really well. The blush 'sunblush' is a fave of mine from way back and is a great neutral nude/peachy rose tone which I would describe as a 'rosewood' shade and has wonderful pigmentation its mostly matte but with a few gold glitters through it but they are not noticeable when applied. Not a fan of the shimmer powder - it is full of chunky glitter which is just not me but it is velvety smooth and well pigmented none-theless.

The last product is a wee bottle of Red Door aura which is a new fave which I would probably not have discovered if not for this scent - it is slightly reminiscent of the original (which I am a fan of) but with lots of fresh raspberry and musky sandalwood notes - strong but divine and I will repurchase in a full size!

Definitely a great value set chocka with classic beauty products which would suit a wide range of skin-tones!

Beautiful Colour Gift Set

I was lucky enough to get this gift set from the last beauty vault and wow-wee!

I love the Kabuki brush; it's so soft and because it's slightly angled I use it for powder blush and it does the trick nicely.

Love the mascara, no clumps! I tend to use it for my lower lashes mostly which is made easy due to the little wand.

The lipsticks shades are pretty, creamy and have good staying power although they aren't really my shades but I've tried to rock them anyway. I only tried the lip pencil once but it's not for me so my Mama claimed that one. I ADORE the lipgloss; it smells of coconut and makes me want to eat it!

The eyeshadow and blush pallet isn't something I've reached for much to be honest. I don't find the blushes very pigmented so the colour payoff isn't ideal. The eyeshadows are lovely, shimmery and I find them to be more pigmented than the blush but just not colours I usually go for.

I like the Red Door EDT, it's a classic but it is very strong so a little goes a long way.

Overall it's a fabulous reasonably priced set that would make the perfect gift and it all comes in a beautiful sparkly clutch - who doesn't love some sparkle in their life?

Love some, hate some

This product was a mixed bag for me, if you'll excuse the pun.

I love the bag, it's a bit of bling and who doesn't love a bit of bling right?

The Kabuki brush is just gorgeous it's so soft that I actually sat there rubbing it around my face for no reason when I first got it.

The lip sticks weren't really my shades so I gave those away.

The Metallised compact is great for going away but I found the eye shadows a little lacking in colour for my personal tastes.

The lipstick is luscious and smooth, as you would expect from Elizabeth Arden!

Overall I really enjoyed this set, would I get it again probably yes there are certainly elements of it I feel in love with.....now where's that kabuki brush....mmmmmmmmm

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Holiday Gift Set

i received this as a present for Christmas last year and i was super excited cause there were so many things in the cute wee silver bag which is nice for a night out.the kabuki brush is very soft and so little and cute , 1 of the lipsticks are peony which is a pink shade and thats lovely and the other one is amethyst which is a brown shade which is great with the brown lip liner underneath that you also receive in the gift set. i got a mascara that is amazing and its made my eyelashes grow. i got a eye shadow pallet with some lovely colours in it and a shimmer and blush, i also received a nice lip gloss that smells amazing and a cute little red door perfume, but that's a bit powerful so you have to careful not to over do it . over all i was extremely happy with this gift set
