Great when used with the entire system

I received this in the vault as part of the Reversaderm Starter Kit in a 15ml tube. You use this every second night for two weeks and then weekly thereafter. The daily use products in the kit were enough for two weeks but there was quite a bit of this peel left over, so I incorporated it back into my regular skincare regime.

It is a clear liquid, not quite a gel consistency. It applies easily but does have a very strong chemical smell which is a bit off-putting. I leave it on for the directed 20-30 minutes then rinse off. I didn't experience any tingling when using it but my skin is used to glycolic acid (I use Pixi Glow daily) It rinses off easily and my skin feels plumper and firmer afterwards, without any dryness. I found this works best when used with the rest of the Reversaderm system. My fine lines were (temporarily) reduced when I used the whole system, but not when I just used this on its own.

I probably wouldn't use this again precisely for that reason. The complete system is just too pricey. I will sticking to my favourite glycolic mask which although it is around the same price, it works better by itself and smells much better than this. I

Dr Lewinn's Reversaderm Smoothing Peel

I fell in love with acids when I had my first peel so when I saw this at the Pharmacy. The first peel I had used gave me a dramatic smoothness with only 7% glycolic acid so when I saw this was 15% alpha-hydroxy GLM acid complex of glycolic, lactic and mandelic acid I was expecting really amazing results. I applied two pumps of this every other night for two weeks. During that time I avoiding using any other chemical or manual exfoliants since I really wanted to see what results I could get just using this. The gel applies on really thin and dries within minutes. You're supposed to leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it off and follow with the Reversaderm Tri-Collagen Accelerating Serum. I didn't have that so I used the Ordinary's Buffet serum which has a mix of peptides like the Reversaderm serum and the Ordinary's Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% for vitamin C in the morning. The peel tingles and has that prickly sensation for a few minutes and then calms down and I don't feel anything. When I rinse it off 30 minutes later my skin is smooth and soft and all my skincare products absorb much quicker. The ingredients in this peel are water, glycolic acid, alcohol, witch hazel, lactic acid, menthyl lactate, coceth-7, PPG-1-PEG-9 lauryl glycol ether, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, hydroxyethyl cellulose, mandelic acid, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (vitamin C), glycerin, French saffron extract, phenoxyethanol and fragrance. So except for the alcohol third on the list it's not a bad formula for a peel. The pump worked really well and I like the classy white minimalist packaging, the bottle also seems airtight. After using it every other night for two weeks consistently the bottle still felt very full which is good because you have to do it once a week to maintain your skin. Given the amount of use I'll get from this I think the price isn't bad. The only reason why I didn't give this more smooches is because I was sort of expecting more dramatic results after using this every other night for two weeks. I had seen more dramatic results with the previously mentioned peel with only 7% glycolic. Sure my skin was smoother after using this and the next day my skin was smooth but I felt that the results were lost about midday of the following day. I have used stronger peels as well there was that was 25% glycolic and it was to be left on all night every other night with one week off and then getting a repeat but that one was seriously painful but gave me more results. This looks like a peel I would be less hesitant to use because it feels more tolerable.

Tips: Another reason why I might not have seen as dramatic results is because I bought it in a clearout sale from the Pharmacy and I had for awhile before finally using it, so maybe it's past it's best before date. Although that's hard to tell since there's no BBE on the box or bottle. Because of that I may repurchase this after I use up this bottle to see if I get better results with the second bottle of this or I may just buy another brand.

Use every night for two weeks and then once a week after that. This peel doesn't tingle or sting for long just like a few minutes and then after that it doesn't feel like anything so if you are hesitant to try chemical peels this is a good choice to try. You will have to use spf the next morning, but then you should be wearing spf daily anyways.

Step up your cleansing routine...

I use this peel every second day when I'm using the range as a programme. I don't think this product is worth using on its own without other parts of the range.

I cleansed and then used about 4 pumps of the peel which is clear and has a serum type consistency. I spread this with my fingers all over my face, it spread very easily. It has minimal scent. After 30 minutes it is time to wash it off - by this time it has dried but still feels a bit sticky on skin. It washes off easily with water and a flannel.

Serum and moisturiser follow this up and skin looks glowing - smooth and clear. Definitely looking resurfaced.

During the first two weeks of use I noticed no burning, tingling or redness. At the start of the 4th week of product use (so start of 6th week in real time as you use this range on a two weeks on two weeks off type roster) I did start to feel a slight (very slight) burning type feeling for a couple of minutes but then it went away - I wasn't worried about this feeling as it is similar to having a professional peel and in my opinion makes the product seem much closer to salon quality.

The size of the product is very generous and is sure to last a long while making the price more justifiable in my mind.

Tinglying Peel

I got this in the Reversaderm trial team. This is the first time I've ever used a peel on my skin. I was super excited but nervous at the same time. I think I was scared of getting a burned face. My skin type is ageing with dry patches.

The bottle is the same as the rest of the range. Smooth white shiny pump bottle. Product was easy to get out of the bottle. The consistency of this is like a clear gel. I did a test patch on my jaw line. I felt a tingling burning sensation. Smells strong like alcohol a slightly perfumed one.

On the two weeks on I peeled every second day. I noticed on the third week that my skin appeared brighter clear. My skin had bad dry spots on my nose. This hasn't happened ever since I've been using this along with the rest of the Reversaderm system. I'm still using it at the moment because I'm really enjoying.

It's priced fair . It is expensive for me to repurchase . I believe it did resurface my skin. I think it could be used on its own as a skin treatment if you didn't want to buy the whole system.

Age Correcting Peel

I trialed this product when I trialed the reversaderm range.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this product. The name itself was a little it imitating. Was it going to peel off dead skin from my face? Because that's what I first thought when I read the name.

In fact it removes the dirt and oils from the skin that clog the pores and creates acne. It also helps reduce the fine lines ad wrinkles of the face to make the skin appear younger and the skin look brighter and healthier. And it did exactly that.

After the '6 week' trial period I noticed significant difference in my skin. The wee lines around my mouth had reduced along with the ones around the corners of my eyes. My skin wasn't breaking out, it was a lot clearer and cleaner.

Initally it stung to apply but subsides quickly. I sort of expected that from the scent it had, quite a strong chemical smell. The liquid is light and is easy to apply. A thin layer over the face is the perfect amount, applying it just with the finger tips. I would pop it on and do a bit of house work leaving it on for no longer than 30 minutes before like warm rinsing it from my face and pat drying my face.

Applying the following steps left my skin feeling fresh and clean. A noticeable difference within 6 weeks and easy to do at home using every 2nd day.

I love this product. I love it's something that can be done in the comfort of your own home.

Tips: Pat dry your skin!

not as scary as it sounds

I received this as part of the Dr Lewinn's Reversaderm range, which I've also reviewed.

The Dr LeWinns Reversaderm MicroCellular Age Correcting Peel was probably the product that was scaring me the most. I felt like it was going to be a microdermabrasion, remove layers of skin, leave me red and sore kinda deal. I was so wrong. It's a much more pleasant, less harsh experience!

Housed in a bottle that resembles the cleanser bottle, just smaller - white with metallic blue accents, and looking like a very effective product just based on that alone somehow, this is a frosted looking thin gel that you cover your face with and leave for about 20 mins. The first few times (this is an 'every second day one) I didn't feel it at all, for the second week of your Reversaderm cycle it's definitely more noticeable, because you're putting it on fresh skin. It has a strong chemical smell that you get used to really quickly.

This is used more as a mask - put it on, leave it 20-30 mins and wash it off. There's no visible 'peeling' involved!

This is the product in the range that really feels like it's 'working' in that my skin always feels fresher following this - and you know what? It's not red, scary looking or sore. The serum and lotion soothe any tenderness instantly but it's minimal anyway, and the fact that you use so little product means this will last for ages.

I would use this again, but I do feel that it's best in conjunction with the whole range.

Perfect title for this product, the word 'peel' is rather scary but it's not what I first thought it would be when I read about the product. Awesome Review x
